What do you do then, inspect the code?
Reading through reviews, articles and checking the permissions it requires. Trocker for example doesn't need full access to the URLs to work, only if you want to enable some advanced blocking. He even warns the user that enabling this will allow the extension to read all your data so it's up to the user to decide if he wants to enable it or not.
And no, I'm not reading the code as this is out of my knowledge to be honest, but that the software is open source and out there for quite a while is a nice bonus. Weren't you also using LocalCDN? As far as I know he also doesn't really share much information about himself.
