New Update uBlock Origin Lite - MV3-based content blocker

Nope. I rather use (or better said testing) since a few weeks Ghostery recently developed based on MV3 even for Firefox.
But also uBOLite did the job well enough for my browsing habits, of course if you don't need the advanced features of uBlock Origin.
Oh, if that's the case, that's okay. I must have misinterpreted your message. 🙂

TIL someone uses Firefox for Android. I'd personally use it if it was at least half good as their desktop version. It's just too resource hungry and lacks of features/settings desktop variant has. Because of this I'm forced to use Brave. 🙄
Same, I use Brave on phone. But I have seen some users just refuse to move past Firefox even on Android, for them uBOL would make sense.

Firefox subreddit is riddled with questions like this:

Mozilla might (or might not) stop supporting MV2 API some time in the future, so you're now using uBO Lite and worsening your ad block experience to be prepared for the future?

This doesn't make sense because Mozilla doesn't even have a roadmap when will they stop supporting MV2 what tells us it's not their plan for at least the next 5 years. Beside, they could always make an exception for already created verified extensions and limit the unverified and new ones to MV3. Something Google refused to do.

Thanks for that information. I just stared using FF and uBlock Lite about a week ago, and didn't realize the battery drain. I prefer Chrome on Android, as I like where the tabs/controls are at, as well as F-Secure's browser protection (safe site icon ) on Chrome. But my goodness, FF + uBlock does a wonderful job :) I will consider Brave as an alternative to FF, though.

There is a bug I think with battery usage reporting and firefox also confirmed it I suppose. Because I use Mull with UBo on android and get pretty good and similar on screen time as I do with brave.

Firefox has apologised to Gorhill and he still removed the Ublock origin Lite extension from the store.

This is why I am glad we have Adguard which is a team instead of one man army like Ublock, when MV3 was announced Adguard protested but also worked with Chromium team to add more rules and features to MV3 standard and now they are providing much more capable MV3 Adblocker with dynamic rules and quick fix functionality. Whereas UBlock origin Lite is a nerfed MV3 adblocker due to ideological reasons.

I still don't understand how exactly do these dynamic filters work if Adguard can't update filters through remote server.

Adguard team persuaded Chrome folks to add dynamic rules functionality, in fact Chrome team thanked Adguard for helping them improve MV3 functionality in their blog. I don't know how that exactly works but I can link to the both Chrome and Adguard teams blogs on this:

I'll be moving over to Adguard i think, now that the official release is out.
