Which one is better for program updates, e.g. from 21.17 to 21.18? In other words, would overwriting work in the same way as uninstallation+(re)installation? I heard from many people recommending uninstalling first since overwriting might have issues that normal uninstallation+installation does not have.

Both methods can work, but uninstalling and reinstalling is often recommended to avoid potential conflicts between versions. Overwriting might be quicker, but there could be issues if any files from the old version interfere with the new one.

It should work overwriting, but yes, some issues may appear (for example, to lose scan and KSN check menus integrated in Explorer), so a clean install would be better.
How should I make your post the Answer and change the thread to Solved btw? Or maybe the forum system will just do this for me.
