I never use auto update except for my phone. Some users reported the same issue. Download offline update using WHDownloader or MiniTool Windows Update. Its a 700 MB file and along with download Adobe flash update as well from WHDownloader. Download only 15063 updates.

I disable Windows update and Background Intelligent Transfer Services and enable them only when there's a update.

@Jack Well, we might need to re-create security config for 2018 and above considering the fact 2017 had lot of exploits and vendors didn't provide fixes like BIOS updates, microcode patches. I think we must include an fields such as BIOS updated or not? MEI FW is updated and secured, Spectre/Meltdown patches etc..
