What that “Item not found” result usually means

That screen simply means the service you used has no record of that URL in its public database. In other words, the URL:

  • has not been previously indexed/seen by that specific service, or
  • was removed / expired from their database, or
  • falls outside what their free search covers (hence the mention of “our threat intelligence offering”).

It does not mean the URL is safe or malicious – just that they don’t have data on it.

What you can do next

If you want to check the URL’s reputation more reliably, you can:

  • Submit it to multiple scanners (e.g. VirusTotal’s URL scanner, URLVoid, etc.).
  • Use your browser’s own protection (SmartScreen, Safe Browsing, etc.) and see if it blocks it.
  • If you have a security suite installed, use its “link scanning” or “web protection” feature (most have something like this).

If you share which service you used (e.g. VirusTotal, some vendor’s portal, etc.), I can give more specific instructions like where to paste the URL, what tab to check, and how to interpret their result pages.

For now, treat “Item not found” as “unknown / no data available”, not as a clean bill of health.
