Hello and welcome to the Webroot test!
Webroot is an American company, acquiring PrevX a few years ago.
They took over the operation of PrevX by making an antivirus in-the-cloud, and adding features.
The protection is average.
Even if Webroot has done a perfect job on URLs (by blocking all my links), Webroot is unlucky and create a fiasco on the pack...
The PC is very quickly infected (Worms, Trojan, Bot, RAT, Ransomware etc). The machine becomes very slow and freezes several times.
The PolyRansom / ViraLock Ransomware ends the test without any reaction from Webroot.
This is a pity, because Webroot had everything to succeed! A pro-active, Cloud detections, a very simple interface, but it is not enough...
It can't stop unknown actions due to a too weak Behavior Blocker...
Webroot is not recommendable.
RAM Usage : Average
Phishing Test : 10/10 (all detected)
Malware URL test : 10/10 (all detected)
Fake crack : 1/1 (detected)
Malware Pack : Remains 863 out of 1473 malware. System very infected and PolyRansom / ViraLock finish the test....
Result :
Due to the large number of infections and the presence of the PolyRansom / ViraLock Ransomware, it is impossible for me to run a disinfection software.
The best would be to use 1 or more rescue CDs (Avira, Kaspersky or others) to disinfect the machine and to pass some additional tools....
