I grew up on early American Country Music, my father spent some time in southern USA (TX) after WW2 - 'Mother Maybelle Carter' can be heard playing the 'Carter Double Scratch' (picking) old but still amazing, AP Carter on rare vocals - I heard this and others at a very early age.
