Nosferatu (2024) my son bought tickets at Imax for tomorrow night.

Well I was a tad disappointed but not sure what I was expecting... It is basically remake of "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992) with Winona Rider & Gary Oldman. I prefer the 1992 version, although the ratings on IMDB including metascore, slightly prefers the 2024 version.

What is it?

The 2021 British paramedic comedy TV show Bloods (Season 1):

Bloods | First Look Trailer | Sky One:

My Thoughts

I saw the thumbnail for this TV show on an online video streaming website.

It caught my attention.

I read the description of this TV show.

That seemed interesting, so I decided to watch an episode.

I was tired, and I had a variety of things I was trying to do.

Despite that, I ended up watching three episodes, which is half of the season.

The next day, I finished the rest of the season, which was also three episodes.

This show is not laugh out loud funny.

The comedy is a bit dark, dry, and somehow positive.

It is more likely to make you smile instead of laugh.

Somehow, that still worked for me, even though I was not really laughing.

This show was a short and very easy, positive watch.

In fact, it was too short.

There were only six episodes, and I wanted to see more.

I actually saw a bit of myself in most of the main characters of this show.

They were like more comedic and exaggerated parts of my own personality.

It was interesting seeing parts of myself in so many characters.

I can not remember any other show or movie with so many characters.

Each character reminded me of parts of myself.

I noticed this before having the time to really think about it or talk about the show with anyone.

One character was like an even more annoying & talkative version of how I can be sometimes.

Another character was like an even more positive wanting to help people version of how I can be sometimes.

Another character was really interested in another character but could not reveal that they liked them.

They were in love with them and had no luck in that area, which I know all too well.

Another character could be friendly & helpful, but was very stagnant and stuck where they were in life.

I also know all too well how that feels.

Another character had something from the past that still greatly impacts them many years later.

It causes social issues for them, which I know how that feels.

Two other characters were overly friendly, soft, goofy, and non-threatening like I can seem or be sometimes.

Another character had issues with not living up to the expectations and standards that they had of themselves.

This was in comparison to their sibling, which I can relate to as the oldest of my siblings.

This show was definitely a surprise, and I hope that it will get a season 2.

I recommend watching it.

It is especially worthwhile because it is so short, with only six twenty-something minute episodes.

It’s a very easy watch.

This was the easiest watch of the year for me so far.

I would give it a 4 out of 5.

If it had actually made me laugh, I possibly would have given it a 5 out of 5.

The Big Short -- I saw it when it was first release circa 2015-16 and was thinking about for some unknown reason then stumbled into the middle of it playing on a cable channel, watched a few minutes and said, I gotta watch the it again. Cued up on streaming service even as I type this. I am so clueless about economics. Fascinating!

I was in grad school for accounting when the mortgage collapse happened. Ryan Gosling’s teaching moment on the toxic mortgages is frighteningly real for what was going on.

Last night, YouTube recommended the new trailer for this movie / hidden gem that will soon have a 4K restoration, it will be available for streaming for the first time, on Mubi.

Just the beginning of the trailer brought back the tears that I forced back when I watched this movie.

This time I cried, I had to pause the trailer, and finish it later. 😁

What Is It?

The 2006 adventure fantasy movie The Fall:

The Fall | Official Trailer:

My Thoughts

I found out about this movie because I saw some people commenting about it on the internet.

Otherwise, I probably would have never known about this movie.

The comments all praised this as an underappreciated masterpiece.

They also mentioned it was less known.

So, I watched a trailer for it.

Lee Pace is in the movie.

I was impressed with his performances in the earlier two movies that I saw him in.

His acting in the TV show Foundation was also impressive.

So I decided to watch this movie to see if it is really as good as the comments said.

I like finding hidden gems, and so I hoped that this would be one.

This movie is visually impressive, artistic, and creative.

It is like an artist bringing a labor of love to the screen.

It resembles a somewhat surreal artistic story told by an adult to a child.

This movie had some beautiful, unique, and varied filming locations.

It is worth watching just for that aspect.

Additionally, it had some good classical music.

You do not usually see movies like this nowadays.

It is what I used to expect when someone talked about watching a movie at a movie theater.

It reminded me of the movie The Cell (2006) merged with the movie The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.

This movie almost made me cry.

I teared up.

I started huffing & puffing a little like I was going to cry.

Likewise, I tried to hold it in and I managed to do so.

I almost dropped a tear, and my eyes got wet.

Catinca Untaru & Lee Pace were standouts in this movie.

I definitely recommend watching this movie at least once.

It offers unique visuals, a remarkable experience, and fascinating filming locations.

What Is It?

The 2023 American surrealist satirical horror fantasy movie Dream Scenario:

Dream Scenario | Official Trailer HD | A24:

My Thoughts

When I saw the trailer for this movie, I had high hopes for it.

I looked forward to seeing this movie, and I expected to like it more.

When it was finally available to watch from home, I watched it with my brother GC last year, 2024.

From the trailer alone, I assumed that this movie was possibly inspired by the short film Sequence:

Sequence:

Sequence is a better movie than Dream Scenario, in my opinion.

Please watch that short film above, the end is graphic, though.

Anyway, Dream Scenario had more potential, but it did not live up to it, sadly.

I am a dream blogger who likes dreams, dreaming, sleep, and sharing those things.

So it is even more disappointing to me that this movie was not as good as I had hoped.

It was not terrible, it had promise at the beginning, but it lost its way.

It brought up some things that were unnecessary, instead of focusing more on the things that it did good.

Then it jumped ahead in time, skipping too much, and it went out with a bit of a whimper.

I guess it is a movie that one should possibly see at least once.

But it is not a movie that stayed with me much or that I have thought about seeing again since.

There are one or more scenes that I want to see again, though.

I would rate this movie a 3 – 3.5 out of 5.
