What movie are you watching or planning to watch?

Attention, fellow series lovers!
The second season of Paradise is now available. After the first installment that left many intrigued, we can finally continue discovering where this story will take us. Perfect for those who have been counting the days and waiting for updates — especially you, @goodjohnjr , since you recommended season 1. 🍿📺✨

Just finished watching In the Blink of an Eye (2026)

The film aims to be a philosophical essay on life and death across different eras. It has visually striking moments, especially in its most primitive setting, and the female presence throughout suggests a symbolic role as creator and giver of life.

Still, the overall result feels scattered: the stories don’t connect as smoothly as intended, and some technological dilemmas are presented in ways that don’t fully convince. Conceptually, it raises interesting reflections, but as a narrative experience it struggles to hold together.

Rather than calling it essential viewing, I’d say it’s a film that sparks thought but leaves the impression it could have been developed more effectively. 🦴🌑🌱

Oh, yeah, 1/2 way into episode 2 (Dark) this is going to be interesting (already is). I'm finding you have to watch these episodes (I do 2-3 a night) pretty consistently, as to not lose track. And as @Digmor Crusher said, you need to pay attention.
When you finish each season, it would be great to read your impressions, it's always interesting to see how everyone experiences Dark. 🌀

That sounds like a great plan, @Jonny Quest . In my posts I try not to give spoilers so the experience isn’t ruined, but I agree with you: reading them after watching each season is definitely the best way. 📖✨

fwiw, I liked Season 1, but s2 is getting off to a too slow start for me... we'll see...

@simmerskool Every opinion adds value and helps enrich the experience with the series. I agree that the first two episodes feel slower, perhaps like a calm before the storm, but afterwards the story regains strength and becomes very dynamic again. I’m sure your impressions will contribute a lot to the thread. 🌅🌩️🔥

P.S.: I can’t give you a like since that option doesn’t appear for me on your comment right now, so I’ll leave it here 👍

yeah, I will go back into Paradise s2e2, I got stalled in that one. I see the Like button disappear too on some posts, the other day I reload the page and Like appeared where it had been missing.

I watched The Man from Earth the other day (held my interest) but dialogue not insightful for me. (apparently a part 2 starts immediately after the first ends, I skipped it.

I agree with you that the dialogue, while it has some interesting aspects, isn’t really deep. But considering the time when the film was made, its independent nature, and the way it unfolds in a single unchanging setting, I think it’s still quite notable. As @SHvFl mentioned, part 2 doesn’t add much and maybe it’s better to skip it. 🎬🗣️🏠

@goodjohnjr Maybe your reviews will encourage more people to take an interest in these kinds of productions, because they convey enthusiasm and curiosity in such a genuine way. In my case, I especially remember the one you wrote about Paradise: it was the spark that motivated me to give it a try, and I don’t regret it—I really enjoyed it. Now I’m eagerly waiting for the second season, and I think comments like yours can be the push others need to discover these stories. 🎬📝✨
Thank you very much for the words of encouragment @Halp2001, I hope so. :)

I am glad that you enjoyed Paradise Season 1.

Thanks for reminding me about Season 2, I finished episode 1 yesterday, it was like its own movie, with two moments that slightly made me somewhat tear up.

What Is It?

The 2011 short film Skwerl by Brian Fairbairn And Karl Eccleston.

You can watch this short film on the YouTube channel Brian And Karl in a video called How English Sounds To Non-English Speakers:

SKWERL // How English Sounds To Non-English Speakers:

How English Sounds To Non-English Speakers:

My Thoughts

I saw this video years ago.

It might have been when I was chatting online with my contact NF in Germany.

She had shared a music video about how English sounds to non-English speakers.

This video was possibly in the related videos section.

I might have found it when searching on YouTube myself.

It could be something like that.

I like the music used in this short film.

For some reason, the actress Fiona Pepper looks familiar to me.

I am not sure why she looks familiar to me.

She might remind me of the French actress Mélanie Laurent.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, @goodjohnjr! I agree that this second season begins with a very different tone compared to the first: the dynamic focuses more on showing the vulnerability and fragility of human beings, trapped in the desolation of a hostile world where loneliness seems to devour hope.

What makes it even more engaging is that between those passages there are moments of calm, almost like breaths of relief, contrasted with others full of intrigue and storm. That alternation gives the story a very special rhythm.

I won’t give away spoilers, but I can confess that episode 4 truly made my eyes “shine”; it was so intense that a few tears slipped down my cheek.

I’m glad to know you’ve already started enjoying it, and I’m sure you’ll find more moments that will touch you in a very personal way.🎬🌠✨

You are welcome @Halp2001 , thank you for sharing that, and well said.

I was also surprised to see Shailene Woodley, this might be the first time that I have seen something with her in it since Divergent.

My Thoughts

My brother GC sent this short film to me. I was not expecting much at all.

However, this was better and creepier than I had expected.

What would you do in the situation that was presented in this short film?

I know that I would not have done what this couple did. This would be a strange and creepy situation to be in.

This was actually more creative & unique than I had expected.

Option 1: First thing I’d do: take out my phone and record everything… because if I’m going to be chased by a supernatural entity, it might as well give me views on YouTube 📱
Option 2: Place a mirror so it can look at itself, facing its own reflection 🪞
🤔💡😌
