What Is It?

The 2024 found footage science fiction horror anthology movie V/H/S/Beyond.

V/H/S/Beyond Trailer 1 (2024):

V/H/S/Beyond (2024) Is VERY Ambitious – Review:

My Thoughts

My brother GC and I watched this movie last year.

I actually did not realize that I had not made a review of it until now.

We did not dislike this movie, but it did not reach its full potential.

It did enough to get an average rating.

There were some creepy moments here and there.

And it did enough to want us to see this franchise continue.

We did not like how one or more of the shorts did not stick to the overall theme.

I also do not like how they did not follow the most common alien lore.

I still look forward to the next V/H/S film.

Hopefully they will increase the budget and / or get some better directors.

Having recently started playing No Man Sky and having watched Pitch Black & Chronicles of Riddick recently, I'm thinking of re-watching the Battlestar Galactica remake. It was a pretty good series but yeah, in the mood for a Sci-Fi fix for when something is free to watch on catchup. :) Battlestar Galactica (TV Series 2004–2009) ⭐ 8.7 | Action, Adventure, Drama
Nice, I have No Man's Sky, but have not gotten to play it beyond the starting planet.

Because my graphics card broke and / or my graphics card slot and / or I need a better power supply for the replacement card they sent me.

I did see all The Chronicles of Riddick films.

I saw Pitch Black many years ago at my cousin's house, it is my favorite of the franchise so far.

I watched the Battlestar Galactica remake TV series and TV movie, and I really enjoyed that series.

I used to look forward to seeing every episode after work, back when it was still airing on Syfy.

Cool. NMS gets very addictive and I'm really enjoying it.

There was a French series called Missions which is all placed on Mars but I never got past the first season: Missions (TV Series 2017–2022) ⭐ 6.6 | Drama, Sci-Fi

That is good to hear.

I also have the poorly reviewed Starfield, but I have not been able to play it until I get the graphics card situation dealt with and / or a new computer.

Thank you for sharing, I have never heard of Missions before, I have now added it to my IMDb watchlist.

What Is It?

The 2004 British psychological thriller revenge tragedy movie Dead Man's Shoes.

Shane Meadows’ Dead Man’s Shoes starring Paddy Considine | Official Trailer | Film4:

My Top 25 Movies Of All Time…It’s NOT What You’d Expect:

My Thoughts

I would have never known about this movie if it were not for the YouTube video My Top 25 Movies Of All Time…It’s NOT What You’d Expect by the YouTube channel Zaffy.

Thank you Zaffy for introducing me to this movie.

I went into this movie mostly blind.

I did not even watch the trailer for this movie first.

It is low budget and was not as amazing as I had hoped, at first.

But slowly things are revealed throughout the movie.

At some point, there is a reveal, that makes what is happening make some more sense.

I started to get a little emotional during that reveal, but I was able to stop myself from crying.

But then there was another reveal that hits a certain character and you as the audience at the same time.

That scene is zoomed in on the face of that character, so you can see the subtle facial expressions.

The acting at that moment is subtle, but the emotions of that character hit me as the viewer.

That is when I cried 1 tear.

During the ending fade to credits, I cried another tear when thinking about that scene.

After the movie, I went back to that scene, and then I cried more tears.

That slow reveal and build up to that moment is what makes this movie standout.

Like the reveal in the anime movie When Marnie Was There.

The reveal hits you all at that moment.

And that reveal happens to be a weak spot of mine that can make me cry.

This movie is not for kids.

But I would recommend watching this movie at least once, and I would rate it a 4 out of 5.
