  1. should minor updates be updated first and then restart
  2. or should feature updates be updated first
  3. does the order affect anything
  4. does 'Cumulative Updates' check what updates you have, and dl only the stuff you dont have? or does it dl everything?
  5. does w10 have regular update cycle or its random
  6. anything else about updates or anything worth knowing?

I wouldn't upgrade right now. Give it at least one more month. Too many bugs.
You can follow them here:
If you want to play it safe follow AskWoody:
I absolutely do NOT recommend that you upgrade to Win10 version 2004, until we’ve had a few more months to get the problems ironed out.

That said, I’m seeing bug reports all over the place. There’s even a topic here on the site about it.

WAIT
Ideally wait for the Feature Updates to appear in Windows Updates. Early adopters are prone to experience more problems, as they rush to download the Media Creation Tool, Update Assistant, Insiders etc, or sometimes it's not their fault and the Updates are pulled from WU.

HOW-TO
Windows Updates will determine the appropriate KB to install for your Version of the OS. The latest Cumulative update for Windows 10, known as Patch Tuesday will supports Versions 1803, 1809, 1903, 1909 and 2004.

DIFFERENCE
Feature Updates are released around Spring and Autumn. Version 2004 = 20 (Year) and 04 (Month). At the moment, Microsoft release 2 major updates per year.
Quality Updates are security patches and are released more frequently. Automatic Windows Updates covers this

On the face of it, Quality updates sound more important, however Feature updates are equally as important, as they extend the product's life by 12-18 months.

WHAT ELSE
It is important to keep regular backups of your personal data, or create a system image. Not all users are fortunate from Feature Updates.

Windows Update or The Windows Media Creation Tool. I don't see any gaming performance different between 1909 and 2004. Consider 2004 is brand new and fill with a lot of bugs and issues, I will wait out for 2 months or 4 months to update.

1. if there's no benefits for 2004, then why use 'Windows update Assistent' - what it do? is it better than 'Media Creation Tool'? whats main diff?
2. why would microsoft release a buggy os, its 2020 already
3. should we install minor updates if we shouldnt install 'feature update'

The best way to install is synonymous with choosing the strongest AV. In other words, there are as many correct answers as there are opinions.

If you're determined to install 2004, install it the way you think it's best. Even if it doesn't work, it will be used as an experience in the future. It's not a waste.
There are various ways, but all of them are the same 2004. Of course, there is no difference in the ratio of bugs.(y)

the 2004 update is apparently a mess up with 10 unresolved problems. don't force install it with the windows assistant (etc). just wait for the update manager to give it to you. some people are getting it and others are not, but it likely has to do with their set up or hardware, and will be offered when those specific bugs are ironed out.
