In the end all Chromium based browsers will drop Mv2 support. uBo might be the life line for Firefox.

I believe Firefox already is locked into Brave Shield. Still under prototype thou and not yet released.

So far uBo, when MV2 drops I'll probably go network wide protection with NextDNS with various filterlists or Adguard or ControlID.

Growing more and more towards Brave though, no need for extra stuff.

The issue is not present with Brave shields on default settings also, only with Ghostery.

I use a combination that has worked quite well for me: uBlock Origin (with AdGuard lists) in the browser, and NextDNS as an additional network-level blocking layer.

This covers ads, trackers, and malicious domains without breaking too many websites and without relying on a single method. For my particular usage, it has been the most stable option so far.

Updating my previous setup: I am now using AdGuard Home (not to be confused with the AdGuard Windows application) as part of my current setup, with blocklists adjusted to my needs.

I am also testing Cloudflare WARP in “Traffic Only” mode, while continuing to use uBlock Origin in my preferred browser. So far, this combination gives me a good balance between blocking, privacy, and stability.

As always, every setup has its own trade-offs, and the best choice depends on each user's needs and usage habits.

I had fun putting together a hypothetical ranking of adblockers extensions with the lowest MiB usage:

1. uBlock Stripped - Dynamic Filtering = 3.27 MiB
2. uBlock Origin = 4.38 MiB
3. Ghostery = 7.4 MiB
4. uBol = 9.2 MiB
5. AdGuard Browser Extension = 28.45 MiB

A few thoughts.
uBol isn't much "lite" than uBo, and it even exceeds Ghostery in terms of MiB.
