Just today, I got scam messages offering more money just by working for 10min to 1 hr and another messages just after I opted to Agree to Whatsapp's new T&C.
Will be migrating within a month.

Was that as a pop-up or as an IM?

WhatsApp is a privacy disaster since Facebook owns it.
The new policy doesn't make it worse (it can't be!) but display the badness easier to user.

As lots in the family use WhatsApp I will have to continue to use it as before with major limitations, I don't use any other social media, we choose to some lesser degree how much info we give Zuck & his mates, it was always going to be like this.

I am still trying to convince my friends to ditch WA and use Signal or Telegram.
So far just a few of them decided to move away from WA

Telegram and Signal are good alternative to Facebook.

Been test-driving signal (android) for a few days and seems to be a good replacement for whatsapp. There's hardly any difference except you need to download and install the signal client on windows vs a web browser whatsapp. It isn't a deal breaker for me though.

Finally uninstalled whatsapp and switched to Signal and threema (working with support team to find out idle battery drain w/o any usage on Android 11)

I donned Apple hat and gave them a month's time and I switched to signal.
