Last I knew NPE was portable and did not require direct installation. Has this changed over time? Not all complaints are true. Norton for more than 15 years has been offering an up-to-date removal tool.

Which one's the better: NPE or EEK?Not all complaints are true. Norton for more than 15 years has been offering an up-to-date removal tool.
I always choose based on the GUI color scheme I like best.Which one's the better: NPE or EEK?
IMHO, using on-demand scanners principle is to scan your system with signatures different from what your real-time antivirus use, so using KVRT with KTS will not give you any benefits, NPE and EEK have different signatures, you can try all products mentioned by other members and see the results by yourself.Which one's the better: NPE or EEK?

Yes. I usually use Bing search, and click on the first sponsored link that I see. The facebook and Instagram influencers are also very honest and credible, so I normally click on what they recommendalways choose based on the GUI color scheme I like best.![]()
I've tested both on my isolated VM and indeed, you're right, NPE is much faster than EEK.IMHO, using on-demand scanners principle is to scan your system with signatures different from what your real-time antivirus use, so using KVRT with KTS will not give you any benefits, NPE and EEK have different signatures, you can try all products mentioned by other members and see the results by yourself.
For me, I prefer NPE over EEK, just because it is smaller and faster, but be careful with false positives.

Best Second opinion scanners
Hello guys. I know many of you use second opinion scanners speciality the testers at MT hub. What is the best scanner that you have used?malwaretips.com
@cruelsister already tested some of them in her video reviews:NPE is fast, EEK is slow, I can do a NPE scan quicker than it takes for EEK just to update its signatures. As far as which is better, no one knows. Maybe our buddy Shadowra could do tests on some of these instead of obscure anti-virus programs that no one uses.

Although the video is quite a bit longer than I wanted, I felt it necessary for a proper overview. Also, F-Secure Online Scanner is not included, but will be covered sometime next week.malwaretips.com

This is why I never uninstall a security product. I do a system restore using a clean system image. It is inconvenient and time-consuming, but less of a headache than dealing with incompatibility issues and system slowdowns. To be fair all security product will leave remnants after you uninstall it even with the most powerful uninstaller, I didn't use Norton itself to know what you mean about "function as malware", but since it is from the same company of Avast/AVG if you mean nag screen about other functionality or third party products, you can manage this from the settings in the notification section.
