Wireguard but Looking to Lightway.
I watched the video below, but was wondering if on desktop PC is it also best to use it?

I now use Wireguard. Been using OpenVPN-TCP.

"To give you an idea of how good OpenVPN is, almost all VPNs use it as their default. In the vast majority of cases, there’s no good reason to use anything else. The only exceptions are WireGuard or particularly solid proprietary protocols like NordLynx and Lightway, all of which we explain below."

I only use VPN, when I wanna make bank transfers or other sensitive materiel. I use Express VPN, and their new Lightway UDP is real fast. Even faster than
IKEv2 .
At the moment, Lightway UDP consume around 20-30 MB, so I have nothing to complain over.

For downloading torrents, I have experienced that OpenVPN-TCP is the answer most of the time. While with Wireguard, I don’t get optimal speeds when downloading a torrent.

A commenter said:
“I think it should be pointed out more strongly that Wireguard is UDP only. That’s a HUGE drawback if you need to punch through a firewall (if either the client OR server are behind firewall rules).OpenVPN is very much more established than Wireguard which feels more like a hack than something real. Wireguard is essentially just SSH-over-UDP with packet routing. Would you even consider putting SSH directly in the kernel?! Yeah, maybe only the systemd people would.” WireGuard vs OpenVPN in 2022: 7 Big Differences
