Question Who is willing to test a new uBlock Stripped with dynamic filtering?

Well my Kees1958 only uses the trackers with 1% prevelence, but the DuckDuckGO data base I am using I used a 0.01% cut off point. Because the Dynamic DNR is always domain specific there is only limited breakage risk (only the website you are browsing). So when using a small tracker blocklist (e.g. my Kees1958 with only tracking networks who have at least a 1% market share in the top 1 million visited websites), the intended usage is ti manually add trackers on website you visit often (but don´t log in to buy or book stuff).

That is why I made the comparison with taking along all travel maps of the world when you are just going for a city trip in your own country. Replace citytrip with websites and your own country with your bookmarked websites. Using this lean approach allows to add extra functionality (using AG lists and scriptlets) without sacrificing performance (and of course extra's as Privacy Inspector, Dynamic DNR filtering and pre fabricated security and privacy rules).

  1. I accidentily uploaded the webstore pictures in localization, that might be the reason review takes so long (V7 still not reviewed), so uploaded them in the correct section in the Chrome Webstore.
  2. Some performance and internal qaulity checks optimizations
  3. Added a ¨reason blocked" explanation when hovering over blocked domains in the Dynamic DNR panel
  4. Added a search field in the Manage custom rules
  5. Added an import/export function in the Manage custom rules
  6. Added a dated added field in the Manage Custom rules and some layout changes for the rules
  7. Added a ¨smart" delete all in the Manage Custom rules, eg. when you type in bbc.com in the search field and press delete all only the rules of bbc.com are deleted
  8. Updated the filterlists

    For other extension writers: I updated the programming principles, it is now a handbook of 24 pages with best practices.

One issue: the new version does not show the cosmetic rules I made before. The rules itself seem to be present and still work. The export/import function is very welcome. Thx.

I have to look after and cherish my one and only active test user :-)

Hope it makes it to the chrome store soon, because V7 is the result of usability improvements. Normally the first wave is all about getting the basics doen, second wave improving/adding features and third wave improving the user workflow experience based on feedback of users (well in my case Jan WIlly :-) ).

We are at V7 because I felt in some pitfalls and stepped on some code landmines, the refactoring to easy to maintain smaller program modules took more time and effort than expected. Problem with AI is it seems to want to please you and I also ran a couple of times into problems AI could not solve itself. I now have a 24 page manual to tell AI how to program (what principles to apply and checks and balances to perform).

V6 was battle ready, but V7 is really good.

I prepared uBlock stripped for automatic review. Turned out the AdGuard remove URL parameter filter had over 850 redirects which Google does not accept when pushing filter updates, so I brought back my old Kees1958 EU-US most used with less tha 80 clean parameter removals using DNR standard rules (I think AG has around 3700).

AG base also has 10 redirects, which I split from the "safe rules". Those 10 redirects are only updated when I push a manual code update in future.

I've downloaded uBol-stripped 7.2.2 from CWS (desktopsite) into my Android-browser Quetta. Of course it works well. Surprisingly the interface too, only one small negligible issue.

PS: Goodbye uBol-stripped, welcome uBlock Stripped.

After some use on Android two more serious issues revealed.
The Dynamic DNR filtering panel and the Privacy inspector panel don't open.
The small negligible issue I mentioned before regards the Security and Privacy panel. The two halves of the panel are combined into one.
It would be o.k. if it's not intended to refine the extension for Android. After all it remains usable, but has some limitations.
 
I am trying out Quetta now myself. Because it has a build in add blocker, I am thinking of making an AdBlock-Companion for Browsers with buildin adblockers.

I am currently on short holiday (1 week in Greece) after that I have to update a CRM course next week (Uni called me that the person who should do it found it to stressful to do it), after that I will start working on it.

When you want, you could open a thread (I am driving around the island on ascooter with my wife) with title "What extension to ask to develop next on Android to Kees1958? and you could moderate it, I guarantee you that I will start working on it last week Augist/first week September.

Let's start with Android Browsers which already have an adblocker, but add easy to use and mobile oriented fuctions, e.g. use website sanbox levels, e.g.
  1. Levell 1 - use build-in adblock function only with optional delete history at
  2. Level 2 - add (enable from a list) usefull harmles third-party lists, like
    a) anti-adblock (specific)
    b) bypass paywallc
    c) enable very low risk features of Security & Privacy
    d) ability to add a user defined blocklist
  3. Level 3 - add additional privacy features
    a) enable cookie specific
    b) enable other annoyances specific
    d) enable remaining low risk features Security & Privacy
    e) enable low risk anti-fingerprinting features of Privacy Inspector
    f) enable low risk trackers of DDG-data base
  4. Level 4
    as level 3 only add medium risk anti-fingerpring and DDG trackers
  5. Level 5
    as level 4 but add higher risk anti-fingerprinting and DDG trackers
The interface has to be really simple, so user could choose a default level (startup mode) and change the level by clicking on the icon of extesnsion options menu and lock it for that website.

Haha, I didn't consider to ask you. uBlock Stripped in its present form is simple to manage and is effective. I prefer the same interface and approuch for all platforms instead of different ones for Android.

@LinuxFan58 - new desktop feature request for uBol-stripped: please add an option to enable Global Policy Control signal. Chrome users currently have to install a separate extension. The option could be included in Security & Privacy.

BTW, I was able to use the new dynamic filtering feature to bypass a paywall on a local news site. 👍👍
