Advice Request Why do so many Anti-Virus software now require a online account now?

Is there any detailed list that shows you which ones do and which ones do not still ?

I couldnt find detailed list but most of av vendors these days run account sysyem(Usually ‘My blahblah such as my eset or my emisosft) because users have to deal with the subscription. Av vendors provide license covering multiple devices so personal account is needed because it is much convenient for users to care there subscriptions

account management, license renewal, "personalized support" easier to download and activate the right product...many good "things about it"

Bitdefender Central is really good. So far for me the best management for your AV and subscriptions. ( if you use Bitdefender )
