Troubleshoot win 7 clean install I cannot get win updates to even work

I just installed win 7 on a computer. Now Windows updates will not even work once. I tried the trouble shooter no luck.
I was once told a way to install updates without the updater how do I do that? And does anyone have a way to fix this update issue.

@Rozesky2 as @illumination said try a clean install or the installation disc might be corrupted. If you need an untouched Windows 7 SP1 Pro ISO give me a PM and I will send you the link

It takes sometime to list all the available updates for download. I experienced "checking for updates" status for more than 1 hour.

Are you able to and or want to upgrade to Windows 10?

I could update to win 10 but this computer experiences problems from
win 10 so I reinstall win 7 .

OK an update on the win update even though yesterday I let it run for
several hours and it never did any update. Maybe because of the
sfc.scannow ...I dont know it is now doing a big update of 230 BUT I do
know sometimes it does this big update then fails and rolls them all back
so I am crossing my fingers

Any applications I tell you to use (if any) are 100% safe - by following my instructions, it it completely at your own risk!

Spoiler: Instructions

1.) Download CCleaner from this link which is the official website: http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup513.exe
2.) Run CCleaner:
Press the

button and let it analyse your PC.
After it has analysed your PC press the

button and let it finish.

3.) Restart your PC and see if it works now.

If the above didn't work then try this:

1.) Run CCleaner:

Press the

button on the left side of CCleaner.

Now click the

button.

Make sure you backup changes to the registry in the case of any problems.

After it has scanned for issues, click the

button and backup your registry. It is highly recommended that you go through the registry keys It has found manually to see if you need them.

2.) Open the start menu and search %temp% delete any thumbnails there.

3.) Empty the recycle bin.

4.) Restart your computer.

This has worked for me.

1. Run "msconfig"
2. Go to Services tab, check "Hide all Microsoft services", click Disable all, reboot on prompt
3. Run Windows Updates and search

Same situation yesterday.

I redid a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit with Windows 7 64-bit SP1 disk.

Try this: install latest version of Windows Update manually,

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3083710

Wait 10 mins for installer to finish
Reboot.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3102810

Wait 10 mins for installer to finish
Reboot.

Wait 10 mins then try manually checking for updates after reboot.

It may take an hour for initial update check after that it should improve.

This is a problem for hundreds if not more users.
