Spotlight is in Settings > Personalization > Background > choose Spotlight.

You have to go -> Personalization > Background > choose Spotlight.
Not -> privacy & security

If you use tools like O&O ShutUp10++, look if they do not block Windows Spotlight.

If you removed Windows Web Experience Pack, you will not get weather widget in lock screen.

I'm pretty sure telemetry has something to do with Windows Spotlight not working. At least in Windows 10, but should be the same in Windows 11. Because on all PCs I freshly installed Windows, Spotlight immediately stopped rotating pictures when I turned off everything related to telemetry in Windows settings.

Dynamic Theme is a great app and I like it. The only thing I hate about it, it's not open source. I prefer open source software or closed source with well written privacy policy. Dynamic Theme is closed source and it doesn't have a clearly written privacy policy, which is exactly the reason why I turned off telemetry in the app and I advise everyone to do the same.

Microsoft confirms Windows 11 24H2 update blocked on PCs with Ubisoft AC, Star Wars games

A couple of days ago, Ubisoft released a game update to Star Wars Outlaws with Title Update version 1.4.0. The update was massive at 8.83 GB on PC, 10.18 GB on Xbox Series X|S, and 7.44 GB on PlayStation 5. On the PC version, Ubisoft acknowledged issues on Windows 11 24H2 and deployed a temporary hotfix version 1.4.1.

Today, Microsoft has confirmed that other Ubisoft titles like Assassin's Creed are also having similar issues. These problems have seemingly been happening since the newest Windows feature update dropped back in early October so it is good to see the companies are acknowledging the issues and are working on them.

As such, the upgrade has been blocked on such systems that have these titles.

Back in June 2024, when Windows 11 version 24H2 was released for Arm-only Copilot+ PCs, Microsoft had assured that printer support on Windows on Arm was going to be fine and dandy, especially for Mopria standard.

However, recently, Neowin noticed that the tech giant had acknowledged issues with printers on Windows on Arm, though there was no word about AMD or Intel PCs, even though various online user reports suggested that it was happening on x86 (AMD64) systems as well.

The problems may have had to do with eSCL, as Microsoft has finally confirmed today that the protocol is broken on Windows 11 24H2. As such, the feature update has been blocked on such systems. The issue, Microsoft explains, is a result of devices not switching USB mode from eSCL when needed, which is essentially causing a conflict.

Asus, Dell confirm new issues in Windows 11 24H2 update, including shutdown bug

Windows 11 24H2 has more issues, including compatibility problems with Dell and Asus PCs, which might also affect users with other hardware. According to Dell, Windows 11 24H2 causes a problem where shutdown does not work correctly, which means your PC would not shutdown properly or go into sleep.

First spotted by Windows Latest and confirmed by Dell in an additional statement, Windows 11 24H2 hibernation and shutdown do not work. This happens only when the Dell Encryption app is installed, and you upgrade to Windows 11 24H2.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has not placed any upgrade safeguard old, which means devices are still being offered Windows 11 24H2 with incompatible software. Thankfully, Dell is looking into the issue and has already rolled out a new version of Dell Encryption, which will be downloaded and installed automatically to apply the fixes.

Windows 11 24H2 changes how the Dolby Audio system works. As previously reported by Windows Latest, Windows 11’s 2024 update deletes the Dolby audio decoders, which means audio would not play on some devices if they aren’t prepared for this change, especially when you clean install the OS.

Asus has requested users to manually install Dolby Digital (also known as Dolby AC-3) and Dolby Digital Plus (also known as Enhanced AC-3, E-AC-3) if they do not have the drivers after Windows 11 2024 Update.
