Does ZA free has cloud ? i have heard that paid has sophos protection live etc

It only has sophos cloud or local
But you still get firewall , antibot etc and if you want I can get you an API key for threat emulation so you can use the extension for threat emulation and there are really nice discount on zone alarm and harmony products that make it pretty cheap and checkpoint has some incredible products that are definitely worth having and when you think how advanced it is you can see it's not a bad deal at all and they have a beta on their site that is free Wich you can use as well

It shouldn't slow browsing much Anyway my recommendation is to set it to background mode so it doesn't scan pages before they can load
