@tofargone , I understand from your post that you are expressing interest in the ZoneAlarm family of products.

First and foremost, I recommend that you install a trial and see how it behaves on your system.
Before you do that, I suggest you give your system a thorough clean of AV remnants, by launching respective AVs that were installed’s removal tools.

It has been brought to my attention by @Jengo that he needed to turn off core isolation. This may be an isolated case, hasn’t been necessary on any of my systems.

Why ZoneAlarm you ask? Because the emulation is fully automated and uses over 60 engines to inspect files, a lot of them based on anomaly detection. It is not a user-dependant system and delivers clean files, without malware having to he executed on your device (which is never a great idea, even contained).

Phishing protection is also as effective as it gets. If you are interested, I can share resources where you can learn more.
Very nice, Thank You. Will do as you have advised. System is clean Image BU.

i bought a copy, been using it for a week and so far im liking it, only issue is the web extension, i cant figure out how to remove it, and pretty much every download I make
it aborts on the first attempt. I'd like to see a easy way to either disable the extension (without zonealarm constantly warning) or remove it entirely, yes it may degrade protection
but there are extensions that can fill those holes.

You can turn off all the features under web secure and that’s gonna disable the extension. It discard your bazaar downloads. If they are so important to you, you can just refresh the page and try downloading again.

Anyway, emulation will continue to inspect files even with the extension removed.

But then is there a way to stop the constant notifications about the web being disabled? im not sure if its special on my machine but if i disable all it notifies me literally every second if i dismiss the notifications

Because these use the Windows notifications API, you can disable from notifications settings (Windows Settings).

Well I installed ZAESNG and it sure seems light on my PC, where as Trend and MWBAMW did not. They must have noticed Shadowra's comments in his video

As far as downloading mentioned above, I download with Ant just fine, if that helps.

I think this is a keeper.

What is your hardware config? I agree that it feels lighter than Trend on my systems on day to day activities.

I have older technology, but the parts were new.

I have an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 64g of Ram (Kingston), Asus Tuf X570 MB, Powercooler Hellbound Graphics Card, and a MSI mag 274UPF Monitor
There is no way ZoneAlarm can be heavy on this configuration, because at the very beginning when you boot your PC, all components and definitions are put into the RAM. They are not unloaded at any point, unlike other products that tend to load/unload.

No performance improvements have been made yet, but there are many on the way.

I had what I assumed to be a bug on my machine with it when I tried it a few days ago. Couldn't load any webpage at all and kept producing these -

Also even with the ZANG cleaner it was abysmally slow to uninstall. Having said that, I did like a lot about the product but not having an interactive firewall is a shame.

Looks like a bug yeah. Thanks for letting us know. Maybe wait for the next version?

humm.... I don't have any of that. Think I saw at most was 3 or 4 processes under zonealarm name, when I checked last night.
