For years, Mac users believed they were relatively safe compared to Windows. The marketing pitch was simple: “Macs don’t get viruses.” But in 2025, that is no longer true—and the latest discovery proves it. Security researchers have uncovered Silver Sparrow 2.0, a new strain of macOS malware that builds on the original Silver Sparrow campaign but comes back stronger, smarter, and harder to detect. What Is Silver Sparrow 2.0? Backstory: The first Silver Sparrow appeared in 2021...
Cybersecurity in mid-2025 has been chaotic for Windows users. Within just the last few weeks, we’ve seen multiple zero-day vulnerabilities, patch blunders, and stability issues. Hi, I am getting a blank panel when I click Settings > System > Display. Nothing shows up. I have removed all security but that panel stays blank. I found some sfc corruption yesterday and did a 'dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth' then a 'sfc /scannow' and the checks were then fine. But the Display panel refuses to show up. Any thoughts ?

The open-source app store F-Droid has issued a warning that Google’s recently announced mandatory developer registration — requiring government ID, fees, and binding application identifiers — could effectively end independent app distribution outside Google Play. F-Droid stresses that this move is not about security but about consolidating corporate control over the Android ecosystem. They are calling on developers, users, and digital freedom advocates to take action by writing to lawmakers...
Starting in November MS will capture your Linked In data to train their AI. It's Opt-Out, so I guess if you have a Linked In account you might be able to access some setting buried in a menu somewhere and stop the data harvest. I think this is a terrible thing to do with the job market the way it is now, so many people have lost a job and are looking for work and MS just has to capitalize on it. As if people who are desperately searching for a job don't have enough problems already. Here is...

In the past, free antivirus (AV) solutions were considered a solid choice for home users with tight budgets. But in 2025, the cybersecurity landscape has changed drastically: Ransomware attacks now use AI to bypass traditional defenses. Phishing emails and malicious ads are more convincing than ever. Zero-day exploits are on the rise, targeting everyday apps and browsers. So the big question is: Are free antivirus solutions like Microsoft Defender, Avast Free, and AVG Free still enough...
