I want AV/Anti Malwares that have fast reactive and remediation times, like ESET and Emsisoft that unzipping a compressed pack of malwares will cause the malwares to be quarantined at once on the fly as they are being unzipped.

Baidu, 360 IS, Panda Cloud, Windows Defender and ROBOSCAN are very poor at this - when I unzip a pack of malware, they will begin to detect malware only after dozen or more malwares have been unzipped. So, with these slow reactive AVs, on-demand scan is always necessary.

Could you pls list AVs that have fast reactive and remediation times? Thanks.

i remember comodo to be quite fast for it
Thank you.

I really want your opinion, for you are very much knowledgeable about malware and anti-malware products. Is it really essential for an AV to have fast reactive and remediation times? If AVs are slow at this, what are the risks of infection? Can malware only do damage if they are executed/run/double-clicked?

Thanks ;)

first you have to distinguish alert display time from engine reaction time; alert display time is not important but engine one (if fast) is a plus; especially with malware that encrypt files one by one; but normally all Avs detect malwares when they are in the memory.

Can malware only do damage if they are executed/run/double-clicked?

a malware is a process so to be effective it must be at minimum read by the OS or executed (by itself or by you) depending its procedure
