So which would you choose, avast free or kaspersky free, based on level of protection & performance?
We might start testing Kaspersky free in the HUB, let's see what happens...
Most depends on how good signatures+cloud will detect MW.
Zero days will be a big problem without "BB" (system monitor, app monitor,...firewall etc)
A doubt, what about Ransomware? How does Kaspersky paid vs free detect them?
Both are not compatible. Anyway, the System Watcher in KAR is not at par with the one found in KAV/KIS/KTS.KAF + KAR > Avast
they are when you install KAR then KAF.Both are not compatible. Anyway, the System Watcher in KAR is not at par with the one found in KAV/KIS/KTS.
We can expect that the app that issues an incompatibility alert can be installed first to solve such issues but the poster apparently tried both sequences.they are when you install KAR then KAF.
thisWe should wait to see Kaspersky free how performs in real world tests, before comparing it with other solutions.

Did you try it and got things working well?
yes we should test KAV with a few feature stripped... Did you even check what KAF is all about? We should wait to see Kaspersky free how performs in real world tests, before comparing it with other solutions.
what is going to conflict tho? KAR doesn't have features KAF has, and vice-versa.We can expect that the app that issues an incompatibility alert can be installed first to solve such issues but the poster apparently tried both sequences.

Alright! I haven't tried KART myself yet, but if there's an option to disable its File AV (the associated KSN) and just keep the SW enabled, that will be better. If you install KART first you can install KAF.
During KAF installation it will check for compatibility and warn about KART, by default it will automatically remove KART, but you can uncheck it and install KAF without removing KART.
The question is how stable it is.
