If I remember correctly (someone correct me if I am wrong), Norton recently threw away their antivirus engine and replaced it with the Avast engine. If you are using Norton you essentially ARE USING Avast.

I still use Jetaudio to encode into mp3pro 196kbps! It's the only things I can find that still works with mp3pro, and I've been using that format since the beginning.

You are right; the old engine of Norton by Symantec had less detection rate compared to that of Avast.

I still use Jetaudio to encode into mp3pro 196kbps! It's the only things I can find that still works with mp3pro, and I've been using that format since the beginning.

Last time used Jetaudio may be 25+ years ago; for playing audio, I use PotPlayer (used mainly for video files).

Was offering more detailed settings those days; Avast gradually minimize the available settings to tinker with.
