Aside from the browser itself, what are the bare minimum allow rules necessary in order for a PC to simply be able to connect to the internet with a web browser?

I recommend using Tinywall. Anyway, it is possible to make rules by basically blocking everything.

I understand Tinywall is a standalone, and I'm trying to research the more critical implications of that vs a front end from a security standpoint. That, and trying to figure out what Windows 10 privacy concerns can get around a minimal whitelist as mentioned in this thread.
