I've now got a fair amount of portable programs on a drive other than C:\ which really helps as they are 'just there' & in my case just need a shortcut - Hopefully I've got it right this time as I know which progs I need, I totally agree the less you install & then often uninstall the better, I now have a new golden image I can go back to if I need it this will be saved for at least 1000 years :):)

Right now, I believe that using a well-known computer cleaner with a registry cleaner integrated into it is safer than using a software uninstaller. Why? While registry cleaners aim to remove as little as possible to avoid removing necessary registry entries by deleting empty keys or keys that refer to an available software/location, software uninstallers attempt to remove anything related to the removed software based on the software name and its vendor name, which may result in errors when deleting unrelated registry items. This depends entirely on the mechanism.
