BoXX's Defenses

Updated to NIS 2012, Works great and flawless.
What settings did you change in NIS 2012?
The only thing that I could recommend would be a password manager like Lastpass

Additional browser protection:
LastPass (Free/) - link
LastPass is an online password manager and form filler that makes web browsing easier and more secure.

I changed the SONAR,Heuristics and the Boot Time protection for better security, I'm using Identity Safe so no need for LastPass.

I have decided to go with Bared Security for now since I'm confident that my Common Sense can serve me well, I still use on-demand scanners for a second opinion.

if you doing safe surfing you will probably never get infected.

Since he have on demand scanner, its good to go. Well if necessarily you can add sandboxie so your surfing will be secure.

yes you should strongly considering using it.

Your setup is looking good for adding Sandboxie. You can use SBIE not only
for browsing but for most things that you do on your computer. I do just
about everything sandboxed, including trying new programs, like browsers.
I love trying new browsers using SBIE, after using them and deleting the
sandbox, everything is gone, its like it was never installed.

You can use SBIE for opening USB and CD drives or opening your Email client
like Outlook Express. If you get a virus, no problem, just delete the sandbox
and the changes trapped in the sandbox are gone. Your files, system was
never touched.

Part of the beauty about SBIE is that once you trust it(on my case, that
was after using the program for 6 months), you learn that your should only
concern yourself with new downloads and installs. What comes into the
sandbox, stays in the sandbox. Nothing gets out unless you allow it. Thats
it, thats Sandboxie.

SBIE has helped me in many ways, including keeping my stress level at close
to 0. Using SBIE allows me to drop scanners of all kind. That means no more
bad updates or upgrades that use to aggravate me. But that's no more.

So, I third, James and Umbra, let SBIE roll and who knows, maybe in a year or
so, you ll find yourself getting rid of all your scanners as you have done with
the real time AV. I did, HMP is the only scanner that I have installed. What
I am saying here, comes from my own experience.

Since Sandboxie's already been improvedf or 64-bit Systems, I might consider a purchase.
Sandboxie has a free version that can be used for as long as you want.
So, you can try it without buying it. If you like it and appreciate what
you get on the registered version, then register your copy.

If you decide to try SBIE, start by browsing sandboxed. As you get
comfortable, you can start using it for everything else and for any
thing that you can think of.

Switched to Comodo Internet Security 5.8, So far, This is the smoothest release from Comodo, No slowdowns was felt even while doing full scans.

Finally got ESET Smart Security installed after experiencing bugs with it. Everything seems to be fixed now and it works absolutely great. I'm gonna try tweaking some of the settings such as setting the HIPS and the firewall to Interactive mode. Performance is fast as always and scanning is much more faster with this version. I have nothing to dislike with ESS for now and I can say that ESET did a great job with this release.

Is it so Box?, I have tried ESS5 twice, liked all the features, but when I completed the installation, and turned on my modem, ESS just hanged my entire system.. I had to force restart by pressing the reset button of CPU. I had the same problem twice.. :(

Added WinPatrol PLUS, A great compliment to Avast and offers some tools that are useful for me.

WinPatrol a small yet quite handy program to have. Good to see I'm not the only one using it.
