As far as I can tell the keys and mails are legit. The mail I got said the same after the translation so must be something lost in translation.

I downloaded the installer from the .com site and then used the key given and it worked.

Emsisoft License Center Do make sure to log-in here after you get the email-id and password on your email account. At first, they allowed to get the license without any geo-restrictions, but now it shows only for Germany. But it is worth the effort to get a license for such a quality security software. Thanks to the OP and Emsisoft.
