New Update ESET v19

It looks like the forum was updated to "v19" as well 😅

I hadn't been there for a while, but it looks good, nice and clean like the app :)
Coming back to ESET now, it's all the clearer to me how much attention they pay to user experience. The Smart Security UI is extraordinarily refined, responsive, and intuitive. I can't remember the last time I personally noticed a bug using their software.

Robert isn't or wasn't the easiest to access or sort if there were problems, I often thought the principle was good but the implementation was not the best?
I have had zero issues with Robert, I find they tuned it more conservatively to make sure there are as little false positives as possible.

Agree 101%. It's all about UI and user experience these days. If the app is designed correctly like ESET is then you don't need to do a PHD on Windows internals or security controls. This is why ESET is the best AM/AV for home users IMHO, the user experience and design is just so good. MBAM/WD are a close second in user experience but not as polished as ESET.

Keen to try out the VPN, I'm a NOD32 sub so I guess I don't get this? Have a Windscribe sub anyway so big lose. I have a another unused license but not sure if it's still valid

Can I ask as I haven't used Robert for some time (that's why I inserted wasn't) it still web based or is it assessable now via the application I?

I know that most of you don’t use it, but the anti spam, since the update has really gotten better. Catching everything. No FP’s. My spamfighter is now playing second fiddle. Very impressive. Also have, over the years with ESET, have collected 153,000 spam addresses. ✌️

And if you do your due diligence, cheap and legitimate licenses can be found. Someone on here posted a site last December (Germany) where they were somewhere in the $15 dollar area for 5 users, 1 year. Legit. I grabbed 3. First one has a couple months left. Just saying…. Look around. Newegg as well. ✌️

I had a funny experience with a portable copy of Firefox I keep on my external drive for certain occasions. The folder was suddenly locked down in a way I wasn't expecting at all. Hoping to replace it with a fresh copy after experiencing strange new behavior, I couldn't even delete the folder when I resorted to a command prompt with administrative privileges.

It turned out that ESET automatically detected the portable browser and started doing everything in its power to protect it.

It may have been browser protection gone a bit mad, I had a similar thing a while ago?

ESET does not allow their VPN service in India due to their no-logging policy violating Indian law, which requires that at least five years of logs be kept. Although ESET advertises that Indian license holders can use the VPN abroad, from what I hear, Indian licenses may still encounter geo-restriction even while used outside of India.

This also applies to AVG and Avast. VPN is not available inside but useable outside India.

I have an Indian license but I am not in India. Anyway, the Eset account tells me that I don't have the appropriate subscription.
Maybe a glitch as VPN is just introduced in Premium. Is this a new activation or been used for months already?

Clearly Eset India have VPN in their website so it should work outside of India.
