New Update Floorp Browser from Japan

Floorp v12.17.0

New Features

Foundation for Tab Stacks

We added the foundation for a Vivaldi-style two-level tab stack feature that leverages Firefox's native tab groups. The members of a tab group are displayed as a second horizontal strip, staying in sync with native tab groups for color, selection, and collapsed state.

Open URLs in a chosen container from the command palette

The "Open URL" command in the command palette now lets you choose which container (container tab) to open the URL in. You can select from the available containers, including the workspace's default container or "no container". In addition, the "Search Web" command now opens search results in the workspace's default container.

Workspace icon picker

You can now choose workspace icons from a searchable picker, with 34 icons available and keyword search support. Legacy icon names continue to work.

Zen Mode improvements

Zen Mode's toolbar and status bar are now self-sized overlays, so they show and hide without reflowing the page content. Zen Mode state is now managed per window, and menu, toolbar, and mouse-gesture commands correctly target the owning window.

Other new features

  • Added hover-reload to the tab bar (enable with floorp.tabs.hoverReload.enabled; hovering for 700ms reloads a background tab)
  • Added inline tab URL editing (enable with floorp.tabs.inlineUrlEdit.enabled; available from the tab's context menu)
  • Updated keyboard shortcut configuration to schema v2 with full key code support, adding shortcuts for window move and Zen Mode toggle
