The company behind UltraAV makes UltraVPN.

UltraVPN seems like a shitty PUP, the privacy being bad too. The reviews present a bad product overall. This move by Kaspersky is stupid.

“UltraVPN is a US-based VPN service launched by a company called Pango Group (later acquired by Aura). This group also owns Hotspot Shield, Betternet, and VPN 360. In spite of its dedication to cybersecurity, UltraVPN has many privacy and safety issues.”

Semms like a sketchy deal tbh that they are forwarding their customers to this unknown AV 🤔 If it was something more reputable then we could understand this decision perhaps.
@roger_m is our honorable expert when it comes to knowing about AVs that almost no one ever heard before 😄 Have you ever tried Ultra AV?
I assumed they would partner with Kaspersky and use their technologies. If that's not the case, this is even worse

Smells like a good PUP... (and their site redirects me to it)

Ultravpn ultra av owner pango seems to’ve purchased hotspot shield, ovpn, and betternet. Not sure why someone would want to go for an unknown av product..

Feel bad for americans that no longer have the freedom to exercise their rights to own a great product like kaspersky.

super bad move. just go for eset they upped their game recently and are good even in default settings for a normal user. stable, fast, with no false positives and no high RAM usage. why would anyone go for a program like this? some of my friends in the US said they are going for eset and Bitdefender ( mostly eset)

I"m runnind Portmaster Firewall and Win Defender right now. I haven't made any decision on a full time AV yet. ESET is a consideration. I've never used it but hear it's light and I know it's always in the top five.

ESET may or may not work with Portmaster Firewall depending on which version of ESET you try out...?? I switched from Premium back to Nod32 (fwiw)

I was disappointed to be forced to leave Kaspersky, but this handoff seems insane. Their memory deserves better than this whether or not they could use the money.
yeah probably ever other AV out there u could get is likely better than this ultraAV...unless some kind of a test is done to prove otherwise, but that's just not likely.
