This happens frequently on fresh installs and might due to a missing redistributable. Run McAfee removal tool and McAfee Pre-install tool.#
Then you can install it again. The pre-install tool will install the redistributable for you.

Uninstalling McAfee is pain. I installed Mcafee on my other device. It installed with the new GUi but after a system restart, it reverted to the old one. I guess i will have to wait until they force the new GUi because it is not the first time to have this problem with McAfee.

That’s Common Build Startup. It’s used to initiate the user mode processes startup sequence and should normally disappear once it’s done. I would try rebooting and see if it persists.

OMG! Why so many processes!!! I would hate to open my task manager if I was using McAfee.
I prefer ESET and Kaspersky's method. Only 2 processes for everything.

I'm impressed with Web advisor, saved me from some dangerous site of downloading series and some creepy ads.

It is also able to block only the malicious content of a site eg: third party scripts instead of blocking the whole site. I like this feature.

If you notice it is always listed as one of the least on system impact. That is why I think, because it splits up the processes so you have a bunch of micro/mini cpu usage and multitasking instead of one huge cpu hog process.

I understand. It's just annoying to look at the task manager, that's it.

I have reinstalled Mcafee today and I still have the old interface. Interestingly, some warnings and notification appear with the new interface. Any ideas?

The program seems to run well, has not had any problems, but I will see in a few more days, I have 60 days before the license has expired.

I have not used the program for many years so I cannot compare this new one with the old.
