Serious Discussion Microsoft Edge Stable (Chromium) Now Available for Download

Microsoft has made this popup bigger and bolder 🤨

Code:
DefaultBrowserSettingsCamoaign = 0
ShowRecommendationsEnabled = 0

And for good measure:
Code:
PromotionalTabsEnabled = 0
:)
It's a good suggestion and I might do that. But if I remember correctly, even if I don't use a DNS related policy, it becomes uneditable once any Edge policy is enabled and also the startup page image or maybe it was the location and temperature value in the start page that goes away if you enable policies. I like those image, weather and temperature combo as well as an editable DNS option.
This recommended browser settings popup shows up once or twice a month so hasn't bothered me too much. I was just surprised that they made it bigger as if the previous one wasn't naggable enough.

True.

No, they don't break. I see them and they work fine.
as well as an editable DNS option.
I enable it system-wide in Windows.

At least no new bloat AFAIK.

After this update I noticed MS had turned on "Browser Essentials" even though I had it switched off in Settings. I am not real happy about that and I wish MS would respect my preferences. I also am not interested in the scare ware gimmick, it's just another piece of useless AI bloat. I have tried hard to use and like Edge, one thing I really do like is Edge's integration with Windows Security. That said, I am now considering downloading Chrome again. I tinkered around with Chrome earlier today on my other laptop, it's really not that bad. I saw a post from someone on Reddit who said they use Chrome because they just need a good browser, not a full service. I see their point.

How did you turn it off previously? In settings I only see it for this option, "Select which buttons to show on the toolbar". Did you mean it appeared in your toolbar after an update?

It is the Browser Essentials button in Settings under Custimize Appearnce/Customize Toolbar. I had it turned off there and yesterday the Browser Essentials button showed up in the tool bar again, after the update. That was how I knew it was back on.
