We were the first to bake a native ad blocker directly into the browser, and today we’re able to say that we’ve been cooking! By overhauling the ad blocking engine and adding compatibility with uBlock lists and filters, we’ve created our fastest and most efficient ad blocker yet. For you, this ensures a better browsing experience in today’s increasingly chaotic web.

They are trying to catch the train of uBO-based built-in adblockers after Brave and Waterfox.
Yeah... Good luck with that!
I used Opera in the very beginning I think it was Norwegian? as I remember, last time was over a year ago to fussy & fiddly for me, features I don't need.
It was Norwegian, and the best thing about it.

I'm now going back many 100s of years when I was just a lad (feels Ike it) but Opera had an ad banner which you could pay to have removed, it was I feel the best browser at the time, though there were few options ...
I was using as my primary browser in 2000s, instead of internet explorer.
However, my boss did not like Opera 😂

I used to use Opera as my main browser because I never liked Google Chrome, and for me it was the only real competitor until it was blocked in the region because it had a VPN service. But I recently noticed that it is no longer blocked. I don't know why, but the problem now is that its extension library is not as extensive as Chrome and Firefox.

As far as I know, the owner is now Chinese, but the development and headquarters are still in Norway.

It's blocked, but sometimes the "block-man" forgets to turn on the blocker.
I can reach the website occasionally.

I used to like Opera because of the Built-in VPN. After purchasing a Full VPN, I ditched Opera and FF. Now I'm mostly on Edge and Brave.

How is the Opera Adblocker compare to Brave?
Did not try Opera for a while, but I may rank its adblocker as no. 3 after Brave and Vivaldi.

It is still blocked for me.

Regarding extensions, I believe you can still use Chrome extensions?

And I believe the built-in VPN in Opera is not a fully-fledged VPN, but rather a proxy. I am not sure if that's still the case as I have not used Opera for years.

Was manually removing the sponsors.
Yeah I still remember those pinned websites on the main page of opera. I used to spend almost 10 mins to remove those nonsense and change settings.

I have also seen people raged about Opera Assistant that starts with Windows. Too many red flags for me.
