The free Opera one is the proxy. The pro/paid one is the system wide VPN same as Brave. And I believe the built-in VPN in Opera is not a fully-fledged VPN, but rather a proxy. I am not sure if that's still the case as I have not used Opera for years.
Different Adblockers, different benchmarks with Different test results on different test sites.I also used to combine ControlD with Brave adblocker to stop loading pop up windows which pass through Brave.
How is the Opera Adblocker compare to Brave?

The test was conducted in default settings, so I believe they're ranking Vivaldi based on that, but they did mention it could be improved by adding more filters. As for Avast, I think they paid to get a spot in the ranking.I have tried Avast secure browser before; its adblocker is near to Adblock plus, no more.
I have doubts regarding this ranking; Vivaldi is much better than Avast regarding adblocker.

I am not sure if he's the same person, but I believe he was part of Opera team. Most of you probably already know this bit of curiosity: the fellow who originally developed the Opera browser is the same fellow who developed the Vivaldi browser.

Looks like even Brave faces geo-blockingI used to use Opera as my main browser because I never liked Google Chrome, and for me it was the only real competitor until it was blocked in the region because it had a VPN service. But I recently noticed that it is no longer blocked. I don't know why, but the problem now is that its extension library is not as extensive as Chrome and Firefox.
As far as I know, the owner is now Chinese, but the development and headquarters are still in Norway.
Looks like even Brave faces geo-blocking
"apparantly ISP's in countries like Tanzania or Pakistan are blocking the download servers of Brave"
It is; however, I always disable in settings as I do not use.Maybe because of Tor (if it is still in Brave)?
Chinese.BTW this is basically Brave without the bloat, but I believe it is not open source and is chinese
