Of course I am in charge. I am the one doing the test. You’ve got 0 control over it.
I haven't tried to take control of your test, but inform users watching and of course respond to your jabs, maybe we can crash this thread too before you even get the test completed, your call.

On my threads, you have no choice but to behave. Go crash somebody else's thread.
Oh you are so full of yourself. This thread belongs to MT, look around, it's a group and not all about you. They allow derailing of threads here all the time, hell you have done it yourself. Of course right now you are absolutely provoking this encounter, even a blind person can see that.

The readers that you claim to “protect” from misinformation have requested that the products are tested in defaults.

You just can’t stop telling people what they should do, how they should test and even, how they should interpret the test. The readers have enough intelligence to draw the right conclusions. Your interference is not in any way necessary.
One day you’ve got a problem with default-deny, next day you request Webroot to be maxed out.

No one is jumping on you, we are jumping on your statements. We had enough of you patrolling these threads like the Avira FileWalker. That’s all good, all fine, but from thread to thread you are contradicting yourself as well and you post false statements that products are not tested correctly.

For you, a test where a product fails to detect malware that 50 other vendors saw and created detections for, is not realistic. Now we are following your guidelines.

I'm not the one contradicting myself, I've made my position clear , and it's actually common sense that you can not test a product partially, have it miss samples and say it failed. Especially if you do not know how to use it and need guides and manuals to configure an advanced product. How dam hard is that to understand really? Testing real world scenarios, I mean come on. Already users saying " I will continue using what I'm using, why, because in the real world they are not turning off their security and downloading folders of malware then executing then on their system. This is not reality. It's entertainment.

Now twist that how you see fit I'm done trying to clap with one hand.

The product that you claim was tested partially, was in absolute max settings. Connection to all untested websites was blocked (system-wide), behavioural monitoring was set to monitor all events and New Programmes Warning was on. This is all that Trend Micro allows to be done with the product, and way more than what’s in the home version. You keep saying web filter, web filter. This ransomware sample could come from anywhere. It could be a mate pranking you and sending it over to you via instant message even. Or an attacker could put it on OneDrive (tested site).

You keep saying I'm claiming products like webroot and trend your full of crap, pull up the post then where I stated that, because all I said was make sure to test as designed. The product I mentioned needs time to monitor unknowns and this can take hours, not something you can do in a 5-10 minute test. One reason it was not tested often around here. Other products do this as well, you know this, they can make verdicts later, and if they protect the system and information in the process of determining them the product did not fail.

Of course if you want to act all professional for the people you could break out wireshark, capture packets and prove through TCP streams " you may need to decode them" that these products are not actually sending information " like emails and passwords ect," out due to restrictions regardless of the perceived traffic via other tools, correct?

I mean common, your a professional show us a real test. Prove these products are truly failing.

Literally nobody keeps malware active for hours. Show us who else keeps malware active for hours. Because with ZoneAlarm that you claimed is used by people with insufficient evaluation skills, the sample is inspected before you even open it and you receive an in-depth report. You do see how it is a tad bit different from executing the malware and waiting a few hours, right?

Not only that, but if I put a link in a document to the same sample that Webroot will analyse few hours, the document will be deleted from your system.

Wow! If you feel so persecuted, why do you keep deleting then creating new usernames and come back to the forum again and again? Why bother, if we're simply a bunch of trollers and keyboard cowards? Who's doing the trolling here? Guests and members can see what's happening here.

Edited.

Nobody is trolling Lynx. We are commenting on his practices here, nobody is issuing any personal attacks, regardless of the fact that he repeatedly does exactly that. Furthermore, this is a free forum. Nobody here is obliged to be a professional. We are professionals at work. This is not work.

They certainly can old-school, your among the bunch always jumping in on others like you really contribute anything past this. How often do you actually help users coming here for help. How about you stick to your business and I stick to mine, I don't come at you in threads, but you have certainly done it to me many times, just as the others, until staff moderate because of the bully mentality here.

I noticed you skipped right past using wireshark to prove claims. It's ok, test how you want, it doesn't effect me, just all the users watching.

Is it a wonder why no one else literally takes MT seriously 🤔

Don’t worry, it may not be necessary, I am looking for ransomware samples as well. When the desktop wallpaper is changed, that is a clear sign, isn’t it?

Exactly, the work I do is intense, under magnification on and off all day. That's where I put my focus. I would like to think of this forum as a enjoyable diversion, as we help each other out, learn and share from each other. So for me, it doesn't have to be university level (even though some of you all could be professors :) ) education complete with a degree by the time we get to your videos...if you don't pass out from exhaustion in answering all of these posts by then 😂 Thank goodness you work out and are in great shape :)
