Proton VPN Review 75% off with pcmag affiliate link. You can't go wrong, $2.50 a month.

Opinions on ProtonVpn? It runs nicely, plenty of options. In other words It's decent, many more different servers than Mullvad, IVPN, AirVpn.

Your going to be shadow banned or I.P blocked using any commercial Vpn service unless you use a a strange and unique location like Finland, Norway.

Any general thoughts on Proton VPN? I use a VPN on a router, so the app is kinda irrelevant to me. I might be in the market for a new VPN soon, specially given black friday sales. Mullvad is blocked by reddit when I use servers in my city. Hide.me blocks youtube. Both require me to login. That's a no from me.
I've only really used Windscribe, Surfshark and Nord for more than a free trial in recent months but switched to Proton when a similar deal to the one posted before me came around. I'm only speaking for UK servers as I rarely if ever switch off them but I don't get Google captcha anymore which was a constant thing on Windscribe, Reddit works fine also without being forced to log in as does YouTube. My only gripe with Proton is not being able to favourite a specific server in the browser extension but other than that it's pretty flawless for me.

So here's something I just realized. If you use Mullvad, ivpn, hide.me, or any other VPN that allows an internalized socks5 connection to the active VPN, you can always just add the VPNs proxy address to a site that blocks the default VPN IP. In that case, you'd be changing the IP used only for the site that blocks you, or thinks you're a bot. Things like that cannot be done with VPNs that do not use local proxies; proxies that only work to an active VPN.

Have you considered AirVpn or Perfect Privacy? Both offer socks5. I can vouch for AirVpn, great service and plenty of options. PP I haven't tried in years.

AirVpn have 3 years for 60 euro's BF deal at the moment.

AirVPN absolutely does NOT offer socks. In fact, the mods and I got into an argument over why AirVPN does not offer that. They ended up kicking me from the forums.

My mistake, I thought they did offer socks5. They offer everything else. They offer OpenVpn which is probably what you want for your router
