Latest SecureAPlus Freemium Version 2.0.18

Hi Guys, we have finally released the latest SecureAPlus Freemium Version 2.0.18.

Good news to those users who are facing some Sandboxie freezing problem. We have already fixed it in this new version. So you can check it out now at https://secureaplus.secureage.com/Main/resource_center.php :)

An important note to those existing SecureAPlus users whose default software update is "Automatic update". You have to update the software manually due to the auto update crashing problem in the earlier version. We have already fixed this crashing problem in this version and you no longer have to update it manually in the subsequent update.

We have also fixed the display problem of "Show all trust level" menu option and SecureAPlus system tray icon. We have added "git.exe" and "tortoisegitproc.exe" to the "Restricted Application" list. You can view the release note at https://secureaplus.secureage.com/Main/release.php for the latest changes.

Please feel free to give us as many feedback as possible :D

RE: SecureAPlus Freemium New Release v2.0.19

Hi guys, we have just released the latest SecureAPlus version 2.0.19.

In this version, we have fixed the blue screen problem when Microsoft Security Essential is scanning the page file.

We have also added in a new context menu. Simply do a right-mouse click on the SecureAPlus tray to view it. In this new context menu, there are two application whitelisting options, "Interactive Mode" and "Lockdown Mode".

In "Interactive Mode", when you wish to run a program that is not in the trusted list, SecureAPlus will prompt you whether to trust it.

Alternatively, you can select "Lockdown Mode" if you want the untrusted program to be blocked automatically. However, please bear in mind that when you want to install any program that is not found in the trusted list, you have to trust it as an installer first. Otherwise, the installer will not be able to run.

If you wish to download the latest v2.0.19 or view the latest release note, please go to https://secureaplus.secureage.com/Main/release.php .

Do feel free to give any comment or feedback :)

You can download it without any AV, so yes, I do believe it's compatible.

Also Post#22 mentions a fix between SecureAPlus with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Thanks! Hmm.. Is this compatible with another AV?

Hi you guys are right. SecureAPlus is compatible to other AV. If you have other AV already running on your machine, you can choose to install SecureAPlus without the AV option.

Based on our testing scenarios, SecureAPlus is able to work well with the following AV:

  • Avast
  • Microsoft Security Essentials
  • Norton
  • AVG
  • McAfee
  • Comodo
  • Windows Defender
  • Trend Micro
  • Avira
  • Kaspersky
  • Eset
  • ZoneAlarm
  • Sophos

Important note when installing with the following AV:

1. Avast
When installing SecureAPlus, do not put it in Avast sandbox. Otherwise SecureAPlus will fail to work.

2. Comodo, Eset and Sophos
It is recommended to turn off the HIPS function.

We are still in the process of fine-tuning SecureAPlus. It will be a great help to us if all of you can let us know the problem you have encountered while installing or using SecureAPlus or compatibility issues with other AV. Please feel free to post all the problems here. We will try our best to address each and every problem that you have faced :)

Cheers,
sinlam

Hi guys,

We have just released SecureAPlus Version 2.0.20.

Here are some of the changes:
1. The "Do not ask what to do when dealing with untrusted file" option is removed from the Application Whitelisting Advanced Settings. You can chooose this feature, which is now known as "Lockdown Mode", from the context menu of SecureAPlus tray icon.

2. Trust all mode is added to the context menu of SecureAPlus tray icon.

3. Two speed options, Fast and Slow, are now available for the background initial whitelisting. The current default setting is Slow.

4. You can now import whitelist database in the small setup file, "SecureAPlusSetup.exe" too. The steps to do it is the same as the big setup file. Please refer to SecureAPlus Installation Guide for more information.

5. If the installer detects a whitelist database file, it will prompt the user whether to import whitelist database.

You can visit https://secureaplus.secureage.com/Main/release.php to view the latest changelog.

If you have any feedback or comment, please feel free to post it in this forum or email us at secureaplus@secureage.com :)

Cheers,
sinlam

Thank you sinlam, this looks a very good program to use.
Can it be installed without the av?

Thanks.

Hi Amiga500, yes, SecureAPlus can be installed without the av. You can go to https://secureaplus.secureage.com/Main/release.php and click on the "No Antitivirus" button to download the no av installer.

Without the av, it will not consume too much of the CPU resource as mentioned by Kelvin :)

I believe each product has its own unique strength.

All I can say is around end of the year we are coming up with a more improved version of SecureAPlus and we have already filed a patent in US.

You can download a free copy and check it out now. If you like it, you can join the referral program to extend the license and even earn a free perpetual user license eventually.

It's using barely any on mine if you don't install the AV component :)

I also installed it without the Antivirus I think This only Happens on Windows 8.1

Hi loveboy_lion, after some testing, we have found out the cause of the heavy resource.

If SecureAPlus is installed after the installation of webroot, the resource will be high. But if SecureAPlus is installed before the installation of webroot, the resource is normal. Below screenshots for your reference.

1. Install SecureAPlus after the installation of Webroot Secure Anywhere v8.0.4.17, the resource is high.

splus_webroot1.jpg

2. Uninstall Webroot Secure Anywhere v8.0.4.17, resource went down to normal.

splus_webroot2.jpg

3. Install Webroot Secure Anywhere v8.0.4.17 after the installation of SecureAPlus, the resource is normal.

If you want to cut down on the resource, you may consider installing Webroot Secure Anywhere v8.0.4.17 after the installation of SecureAPlus.

Cheers,
