ESET is lighter on every lab test and from personal experience then Kaspersky
About protection we will have eto wait for the test but usually Kaspersky was the top and nowadays it isn't always although it still has some of the best behavioral detection (system watcher ) and does really good against threats av have a hard time dealing with and that was shown for example with cruel sister worm testing , ransomware tests
Reason I don't really use Kaspersky is political but everyone can agree it's an amazing product
But personally I have bias towards ESET as its the alternative I use for Kaspersky and being lighter and competitive with Kaspersky is very rare
It's true, Eset is lighter in web browsing and maybe other things, I just tried ESET but I didn't like it, everything was fine in the browsing speed, but I felt that the system startup was a little slow for a few seconds, when trying Accessing a file through the context menu increased the CPU, it was really bothering me, I also experienced failures in web protection, I used openphish to obtain URL samples, ESET blocked some and not others even though In Virustotal it marked Phishing detection, I checked the protection log and there it said that it had blocked the threat but in the browser the page had loaded completely, I returned to Kaspersky, I will not change again, I had a very bad experience with ESET.

Inf: Tested on a low-resource computer (Incompatible) with Windows 11 23h2

Browser used for testing:

Microsoft Edge

True but Kaspersky right on their tale. Kaspersky very light...

On my PC its as follows in lightness:

Panda, Eset, K7, Avast one, McAfee... All tied for 1st place

2nd place would be mostly all others, (ZoneAlarm, Avast, AVG, Kaspersky, Emsisoft) except for BD, it's heavy, and had problems with Avira...*** ALL Tested on a clean install image by Macrium X.

But I chose Zonealarm from 2nd Place position, just for the excellent Security, as it is a complete package, AV, FW, Behavior, and much more...Plus it's as fast as all the others in second place. Win, win, so that is what I chose. And it's pretty much install and forget.
In performance it is fine, I had problems with the web protection in ESET, Kaspersky in performance is also fine, the only drawback for me is in web browsing, it slows down browsing..., otherwise it is fine, I did not experience any failures with Kaspersky , solid product.

I just want to see Kaspersky vs Eset Smart for protection and which one is lighter between the two?
ESET's performance is good (less RAM memory consumption, it doesn't slow down web browsing, something that Kaspersky does) and Kaspersky's performance is also good, although it consumes a little more RAM and slows down browsing a bit.

Total Ram consumption with both products (Computer with 4GB of RAM)

Kaspersky: 35/38%(sometimes 39/40-1%, then returns to the first values described)
ESET : 32/35%

*(Additional)
I experienced errors with ESET (Web Protection)

I didn't have any problems with Kaspersky.

I hope I have helped you by telling you my personal experience.

I didn't face any slow system startup issue or failure in web protection also didn't face slow browsing.

After Kaspersky use, it does slow browsing speed or use high system resources?

Do you know any tweaks to improve Kaspersky's impact?

Kaspersky is light if you disable web injection.
Eset is also light. Protection wise Both are good. Kaspersky is 20/20 and Eset 18/20.

I tested Eset and it uses less than 100Mb RAM and performance is a little bit faster than Kaspersky. Except for the fast performance, I prefer Kaspersky. If any tweaks can improve Kaspersky to consume less RAM and faster performance?

Disable Web injection, Gameing profile off. Disable consumption of startup resources & Disable background scan.

Do you have any screenshot of these settings?
Will disabling web injection and background scan leave vulnerability to my pc?
Same question.

I also think in terms of behaviour protection, Kaspersky performs better than ESET. Is that correct??

At no point did I say that ESET slows down my web browsing...
Kaspersky reduces web browsing speed, system resources increase a little (CPU and RAM), but it is acceptable.

I do not recommend disabling web protection, it significantly reduces protection, disabling it will prevent Kaspersky from blocking malicious URLs.
I share your evaluation based on my personal experience in the past. But I would say ESET 16-17/20, today I have not tested ESET in depth, but a while ago I used to use it and it was very common to get infected, at that time the only weakness of Kaspersky that I experienced was the USB protection, i infected me with viruses worms..., System Watcher detected the threat, disinfected the computer but there was havoc..., and also problems with web hijackers..., but that was years ago (2016/2017) both have improved a lot since then, but ESET still doesn't convince me in terms of protection...
