You can download the current version - 14.3 RU9, from the following link. They seem to always provide virus free links to the current version.
is that latest version and does that site keep the version number up to date? how do i update the client after a new version comes out do i have to uninstall it? or do i simply download the new version file off the site and will it install over?

You just install it on top of it anyway even if you don't download the newest version you should still get automatica signatures for a few years till that sep version is EOL
So there is no huge issue skipping client updates if everything works well

dude thank you for answering my questions on this so i learned the site you shared really does keep the version updated. endpoint browser extension is now installed automatically at an admin level which is nice. Web protection was not working for me before but this new version on this site really makes it complete and its very stable. Symantec Endpoint Protection Client (14.3 RU9) <----- Here is the link to the latest version.

I'm using RU9 for a while so yeah maybe it was actually a bug with an older version you had btw is there any bugs or features you need that didn't work in the latest client RU9 ?

Btw if anyone has a lower end machine without 8gb+ ram then I would recommend the embedded client as it has reduced signatures (more signatures loaded from cloud rather then ram )

Obviously only for low end machines as it has certain costs both to security and performance using the embedded client

Is sep considered lightweight?
If you install the av components then it's heavier then some avs including eset , Kaspersky
But if you use only ips , firewall without the av components then it should be very light as other firewalls
Personally I'm using only the ips , firewall modules on my PCs currently with a different av like eset , defender

You could actually see for yourself and worst case change to a different av and keep only the firewall , ips

what if I use just IPS and the behavior detection along with defender

If you install sonar (behavioral component ) you will have the av installed too so you will he the performance issues of two av software
If you're using defender I recommend only the firewall and ips nothing else

As the behavioral module is the heavy part
