OK, I got curious about ESET Smart security Premium, so I installed the 1-month trial version. And maybe after that get a year licence if I like it.

From the beginning, I already like how well designed the menus are. :) And from a bit of searching, I thought that ESET Smart security Premium did not have LiveGuard, but it does. I guess the search engine does not have the correct information.

Now since this is the first time I am trying ESET I realize that I should not mess with most settings for now. However, how much effect does the Browser Privacy and security part have? Which places a green border around Brave, and installed an extension. Does the browser privacy and security work like Sandboxie? Meaning, does it delete things when I close my browser or not? (Or only when I click on clean browser in the extension menu.)

Although for the moment it is only 1 month for testing purpose, any tips on using ESET Smart security Premium is welcome. :)

The green box means that the process is isolated from outside access, but it is not a container like Comodo or Sandboxie. The separate banking mode icon is a protected Edge, Eset creates a separate profile where no extensions can be added except for a small set of extensions that Eset trusts, such as Bitwarden. There is no automatic cleaning in either protected browsers or protected banking mode.

As a personal lifehack, I can advise you to protect your browser profile folders with the folder protection module, so no one can steal your data from the browser.

I also advise about such settings for the detection:

Another cool thing is that you can use Eset as a basic OS-wide ad blocker. I block basic tracking, advertising and telemetry domains through its web filter. :)

I was curious too with the new version of Eset praised in other threads, so downloaded a trial version of Security Premium. I am using Kaspersky and had tested Eset previously but did not like it at that time.
How do I protect browser profile folders? Where do I add them in Eset?

Open File Explorer and enter the path to the folder as shown in the image.
C:/Users/ "your account" /AppData / ...... /Edge/
Right click on "User Data" and select "Protect with ESET Folder Guard" from the ESET menu.

I just saw that czesetfan explained it already. :)

I asked ChatGPT for basic tracking and advertising hosts, tracking hosts for software I have installed, basic hosts for analytics, etc. Some of the stuff I just copied from ublock from what it blocks on the sites I read. I don't have a goal to turn Eset into a full-fledged blocker, although I once tried to do that and loaded all adguard subscriptions into it, I think it slowed down performance a bit, but I don't remember well. :)
