I've been using CL aka VS for so long, my mind must blur when I look at settings, I installed 7.86 on win10 hardware and looking thru settings, I just do not find Smart Firewall. HELP!
wow DUH for me, on the 1st page. Actually, I saw "something" was different on that page when I first looked, but did not realize that was it. The default appears to be "disabled" Two other choices: Recommended and Aggressive. Followed your lead and went with Recommended. It took several seconds to load that setting, maybe 10 to 15 seconds. I assume DeepInstinct inspected and allowed whatever Dan is doing under the hood. I know some of you have looked into the Win Firewall to check the rules. Thanks!!
Yes that's what I suspected. I have used @Andy Ful FWH on VM, and it shows you the rules (LOLBins) in FWH. I know you can dig into the Win Firewall to see its rules, but I trust Dan until I see a snafu. I probably could not tell a problematic rule from a good one until there's an issue and I identify it. All good here the past several hours since I enabled Recommended.

Maybe all 7.86 users already know this, I just discovered that if you left-click the mini-icon (brick wall) on the right side of Smart Firewall [selection] it opens Control Panel | System & Security | Windows Defender Firewall which displays its status: Incoming Block all connections to apps that are not on the the list of allowed apps & Notify me when firewall blocks a new app.
I have CyberLock 7.86 installed on my Windows 11 23H2 system. It applied the Smart Firewall "Recommended" option within 5 secs.
CyberLock is excellent at rating applications with digital signatures. It mostly rates applications lacking digital signatures as unsafe. I'll evaluate the usability or how well it handles the installation of signed and unsigned applications.
With Comodo, I can use the "ignore" option to allow updates or future versions of applications without problems. Is this possible with CyberLock? I haven't explored it yet.
