Hi everyone,

I saw a cheap Bitdefender deal on Electronicfirst, so I decided to purchase a Bitdefender Family Pack 2025 US Key (2 Years / 15 Devices).

However, when I tried to enter the activation key they provided, Bitdefender Central gave me the following error message:

"This key was already used to generate a subscription"

When I contacted Electronicfirst support, they claimed that my Bitdefender Family Pack key was automatically applied to extend my existing 30-day Bitdefender Total Security trial.

Here is what confuses me:
  • The 30-day Bitdefender Total Security trial was something given to me directly by Bitdefender.
  • Electronicfirst insisted that my purchased Family Pack activation code extended this Bitdefender Total Security trial, claiming that the trial will now end on September 22, 2026.
How could they possibly arrive at this conclusion? Does Bitdefender's activation system actually allow a Family Pack license key to override or extend a Total Security trial like this?

Does this sound like a scam by Electronicfirst? Has anyone encountered a similar situation with them before?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

I wish you luck! Before I buy keys from a website, I usually check for others on this site or elsewhere who have purchased from specific sites. Some websites are more reputable than others, like G2 and Eneba.

Looking at their profile on TrustPilot, it seems support is doing their job.

I suggest you stay in contact with Electronicfirst support and nag them. If they did not help, write a review on TrustPilot.

Bitsefender support won't help since the key was not purchased directly from their nor from an authorized reseller.

@Jyosei I don't know how electronicfirst could say it would automatically be applied, without your accessing your secure Central account and working through there?
This was a newer thread that may be helpful, otherwise you did some nice research and found a couple of good threads.

This is what Google AI said from my follow-up question.

@Jyosei are you located in the US? If not, then I am afraid it will not work because this is US region locked key: Bitdefender Family Pack 2025 US Key (2 Years / 15 Devices).
My network environment and account region are both set to the US. I've already confirmed that I can activate US-region keys since I bought one before.

Bitdefender confirmed that Electronicfirst was talking nonsense.
