I'm just a random guy here who found the site through ChatGPT now. I'm using Chrome, but my favorite browser a few months ago was Brave, I don't remember why I decided to switch and what the reason was, but I still prefer Brave over Chrome. What do you guys recommend? I saw a lot of users voting for Firefox. What are the advantages? I've never used it, maybe when I was in school it was the one installed on every computer. LOL
I'd love to hear from people who use Firefox daily.

Honestly, Vivaldi. I love Firefox. But it's dying and on its way out. Their market share is just too low. Their money comes from Google, so they're going to do what google asks them too eventually. If I have to use a Chromium-based browser, which is a must now, I'd choose Vivaldi. At least that way I can get it t look like what I want.

I use Firefox to resists Chromium’s monopoly, which is good for privacy in general.

I switched from Brave to Firefox few months ago and for me Firefox is just better browser. It feels snappier to me than Brave and works normally. The reason for switch was Google's monopoly in web space and limiting uBO's functionality. That was the last straw for me.

Wolf which I've used continually for a few weeks now, Edge is installed but used now very rarely - I've found no issues using Wolf over Firefox which used to be my main browser.
fwiw I used librewolf for several weeks, had no issues that I recall, but found no real advantage over firefox so using firefox mostly, also firefox is (seems to be) default browser for various linux distros and I've been running linux more lately with only firefox.

I'm not sure why you're having that weird behavior on Firefox.
I'll reinstall Firefox and provide an update here after testing again.
@rashmi BTW, didn't want to assume your gender because in real life about 11 years ago there was a girl whose name was "rashmi" like your username and she had a massive crush on me and pursued me on and off for almost three years. So, every time I see you here on MT, I am reminded of her :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Careful now, darling! Don't dive too deep into the "rashmi" web; this sequel, after 11 long years, might just throw you for a loop, and... rashmi could very well turn out to be rahim! 😊

The outcome was consistent even after reinstalling Firefox and performing another test. It continues to rely on the system's DNS rather than the Cloudflare Gateway DNS set in YogaDNS, with Secure DNS "Off" in settings.

@SeriousHoax I'm wondering if you had Firefox and YogaDNS set up when the Secure DNS option was in Network Settings. Disabling Secure DNS was possible when the option was under Network Settings, so there were no issues.

tangentially speaking I noticed DNS variations with firefox depending on which vpn I was using, some do what you expect, some do not...

Voted Other: Floorp, on both Linux and Windows. I love the ambition and ingenuity from the developers who took this Firefox ESR fork and turned it into a feature-rich, stable and fast browser.
Hey @wat0114 this is exciting. How did you first hear about Floorp. I use Mullvad browser and Librewolf, they maybe have similar aims. Will have to try it out (y)

I would like to know, does using Firefox based browsers, Mullvad, LibreWolf, Floorp, do they come under Firefox, or 'Other'.

Voted 'Other' but they are all based on FF  What have others done here?

I've switched back to my preferred browser, which I'd stopped using because of its stagnant development. It looks like the browser is back on track, with regular updates and active development. Yes, the magnificent Comodo Dragon browser is from a vendor known for its perfect products! 😊

Comodo Dragon is the primary browser, and Edge is the backup browser on Windows.
Vivaldi is the primary browser, and Chrome is the backup browser on Android.
Vivaldi is the primary browser, and Safari is the backup browser on the iPad.

My vote goes to brave, it's the browser I use a lot these days on my computer, laptop and smartphone. Since you can only vote for one browser at a time, if I could vote for 2 browsers, I'd vote for EDGE, and Microsoft is starting to slim down and is running just behind brave. You know why I voted for brave? Simple, it's fast, "respects" "privacy" a bit and has built-in ad blocking. Simple as that. (y)

What I also like about Brave is that Leo does a fairly nice job, and that you can scroll 1/2 down the page of a search and check the results with Google or Bing.
