I have no experience with Chrome or Edge, so I don't know how disabling Secure DNS compares to Firefox.
In Firefox, it is easy to disable Secure DNS: in Firefox settings/ Privacy & Security/ DNS over HTTPS, you can simply select "Off".

Safari because every site loads exactly as it should. Chrome and Firefox have their own agenda and that causes sites to break due to their specific cookie and privacy policies. Safari just loads whatever, you can type in the exact IP address of a website and it will take you there and it is the only browser that understands that local IPs like your gateway or NAS or Wifi portals need special treatment. While it is not my main browser on desktop, it is the browser I instantly open if a website errors out and 100% of the time it just works in Safari. The downside with Safari is the UI is ugly and uninviting for multitasking.

I use Vivaldi, but I also want to use Firefox. However, Firefox's dark mode pales compared to Chrome, Edge, and Vivaldi.
What do you mean exactly? Firefox is the only web browser (not counting its forks) that's 100% customizable with userChrome.css file. You can either download already built CSS themes for Firefox or you can make your own. Check out FirefoxCSS Store.
Its translation service is slow...
Then just don't use it. There's an awesome open source add-on which make translate feature similar to one in the Chromium browsers. It's very customizable and you can even choose the translation service you want to use.
...and you cannot disable Secure DNS in the settings like you can in Chrome and Edge.
Then what's this?

Why Vivaldi over Brave? I like both, by the way.
I enjoy Vivaldi's customization and overall experience. Brave didn't appeal to me because of its cartoonish icon, ad options, crypto features, and overall design. Although you can disable these features, Brave didn't leave a solid impression on me.

You can disable Secure DNS in Chrome, Edge, or Vivaldi. In Firefox, you can choose the "Off" option, and it uses the system's DNS. I use the YogaDNS app with Cloudflare Gateway DNS. When you disable Secure DNS in Chrome, Edge, or Vivaldi, they use Cloudflare Gateway DNS. When you turn off Secure DNS in Firefox, it uses the system's default.

I was referring to the dark mode settings in Firefox.

TWP is excellent; it's the translation add-on I relied on for Firefox.

I responded to the Secure DNS topic in my previous post.

This is absolutely true!! Vivaldi's "force a dark theme on all websites" setting is amazing. For those without Vivaldi, it's just the "selective inversion of non-image elements" chrome flag.

This seems a bit off. Is Yoga DNS active system-wide? If so, Firefox should use Cloudflare Gateway DNS as well. Maybe you misconfigured something, I'm not sure.

You think of the option that changes the theme of the website depending if you choose light or dark theme in the browser? Yeah, currently, this isn't working the best in Firefox. But hey, there are a lot of extensions that do the same; even better.

I've been using the dark mode flags' "Enabled" option in Chrome and Edge, and Vivaldi's dark mode seems identical. Is the "selective inversion of non-image elements" option better, and if so, how?

I honestly think it's the same thing. If it's not I can't tell the difference. I know there was a semi-recent Vivaldi update that, I think, added the "force dark theme." I think that was just a vivaldi gui version of that flag.

YogaDNS intercepts DNS requests at the system level, all done automatically. I've also configured it to run as a Windows Service.

Yes, the dark theme really ruins the appearance of websites.
I prefer Simple Translate.
Simple Translate is good, but TWP is my preferred choice as it functions similar to Chrome's.

I have used YogaDNS before and this didn't happen for me. There is a setting in YogaDNS named something like intercept plain text DNS. I forgot the exact name. Have you enabled that option?

I have set up Cloudflare Public DNS 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1 with Manual DoH in Windows and Cloudflare Gateway DoH in YogaDNS. Do you mean the "Block plain DNS over TCP from System Resolver" setting? It's enabled as the default setting.

Is there documentation that verifies this? My Chromium browsers have it disabled due to use of policies, and all tests report Quad9 (my system setting) as "in use", OK, etc.

Oh yeah that setting. I'm not sure why you're having that weird behavior on Firefox. You may also check out AdGuard Home which can also be run locally. I often use it with Cloudflare malware blocking DNS (as it's the fastest for me) with Hegezi Multi Pro++ and OISD dns filter.

I think he/she meant that the Cloudflare Gateway that is setup on YogaDNS works as expected with Chromium browsers. Without the YogaDNS app, it should use system DNS like it does in your system.
@rashmi BTW, didn't want to assume your gender because in real life about 11 years ago there was a girl whose name was "rashmi" like your username and she had a massive crush on me and pursued me on and off for almost three years. So, every time I see you here on MT, I am reminded of her :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

You're probably right, but I'd like @rashmi to clarify, FWIW.
