Outer Range Season 1 Review – A HIDDEN GEM?:

My Thoughts

I found out about this TV show recently thanks to Simmerskool here at the MalwareTips forums, thank you Simmerskool.

It was good to see Imogen Poots in something again.

She does not get as much work as I think she should get.

As usual, she did a good job, with her & Josh Brolin having standout performances.

The first episode was slow, but it pulls you in with the mystery & high strangeness.

That combined with some tension, good performances, and the blend of western with a bit of science fiction.

Kept my attention all the way through.

I ended up binge-watching the last half of the season in one day.

It is only 8 episodes, so it was an easy watch.

This is one of my favorite TV shows this year so far.

I liked it better than expected, and maybe more than I should have.

I would rate it a 4 out of 5, and I would definitely recommend watching it.

It is a shame that not many people know about this TV show.

None of the YouTube channels that I am subscribed to have reviews of it.

Except for one channel having a review of the first two episodes only.

In fact, there does not seem to be really any high quality reviews of it on YouTube.

That I have seen yet, except for that two episode review.

More people should check this show out.

Good news, you know there is a 2d season, total of 15 episodes. 2d season has about as much high strangeness as the 1st. (sounds like you liked it more than me & that's ok :D )
PS check out The Peripheral with Chloe Grace Moretz (only 1 season - 8 episodes)

Hello @simmerskool, yep, I am on episode 4 of season 2 of Outer Range now. ;)

Finally, another person who actually saw The Peripheral Season 1, it is a shame that it got cancelled.

I saw it back when it came out, it had flaws, but I liked it enough to want to see where it was going.

Alexandra Billings as Inspector Ainsley Lowbeer was a performance & character that stood out & confused me a bit, I wanted to see that character interact with more people, definitely a unique character.

Outer Range – Season 2 (2024) Prime Video Review:

My Thoughts

I liked season 1 better than expected.

So I definitely looked forward to season 2.

I started it right away.

I enjoyed this season as well.

It is a shame that it got canceled before its final season, like the Westworld TV show did.

This season was only 7 episodes instead of 8 like the previous season, oddly.

So this season was even more of an easy watch.

I recommend watching this season & the previous season.

Once again, I enjoyed this TV show more than expected, and possibly more than I should have.

I would rate it a 4 out of 5.

It is among the best TV shows that I have seen this year so far.

Imogen Poots stood out even more this season in her role / performance.

She should have been in Westworld too, among other TV shows & movies et cetera.

I just saw Mission Impossible THE Final Reckoning on IMAX -- I think this review is accurate: "...is too messy, too awkward, too clumsy. It somehow feels overlong and inert even as it never slows down." Slashfilm (metascore 50). I forgot one of the best parts: (spoiler alert) Tom scuba dives and his mask has internal lights so you can always see his face and the mask never fogs up. Hilarious (to me) or pathetic.

The 2017 anime (animated) movie Genocidal Organ (Project Itoh: Genocidal Organ).

Project Itoh: Genocidal Organ – Official Trailer:

Genocidal Organ, The Proto-MGS Anime IN FIVE MINUTES OR LESS:

My Thoughts

I found out about this anime movie thanks to randomly seeing a video clip on YouTube that YouTube recommended, t was a longer version of this scene:

Genocidal Organ – Official Clip – Assault:

I liked the animation & tone of that scene. It reminded me of Ghost In The Shell and Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade.

So, I decided to watch the trailer for the movie.

I liked the trailer as well, and so my brother GC & I watched the movie.

Likewise, I predicted that I would like this movie, and I did.

There was more talking & less action than I expected.

Some people will probably find this movie to be boring at times.

However, I liked the intelligent dialogue.

In my opinion, they should have added more action.

This would break up the longer conversation scenes a bit.

This anime movie had a unique & scary concept involving language & the subconscious impact of language.

It was a bit extreme, but on a low level, some of it is true. This is also scary.

This movie makes you think about some things happening now, and that could happen in the future.

Likewise, this movie also presented some military technology and tactics that are currently in use.

It also showcased some tactics that we might use in the future.

I can not believe that no one I know has ever talked about this movie.

It deserves to be more known and seen.

I did not like the two short scenes of unnecessary nudity.

Moreover, the action scenes are more violent than usual.

Furthermore, I recommend watching this movie.

I would give it a 4 out of 5.

Do not watch it when you are tired, though.

Be ready for a lot of talking at times.

The 2000 Japanese anime (animated) action horror movie Blood: The Last Vampire.

Blood: The Last Vampire (2000) Trailer | Yûki Kudô | Saemi Nakamura:

The Horror Anime That Should’ve Changed The World:

My Thoughts

This anime movie is either the shortest or next to shortest anime movie that is not a short film.

That I have probably ever watched.

The other being Angel’s Egg.

This movie is only 40-something minutes long.

This anime movie was ahead of its time, that & the short runtime, the unanswered questions, were its downfall.

The animation, gory action, seriousness, atmosphere, et cetera worked well.

But the main character Saya was too stoic, and too much the silent type.

For the audience to connect with or get to know her.

The voice actress for her was more flat & monotone.

That probably also hurt this film.

I remember being shocked when it ended so soon with unanswered questions that I wanted to know.

This anime is not for kids, but I would recommend it to adults.

Especially because it is so short.

I was surprised to see that this movie got lower scores by critics than I had expected.

I think that they were too harsh on this film.

But I do agree that I did not like it as much as I wanted to.

I would probably rate it a 3.5 – 4 out of 5.

But I still think that it is worth seeing, and is a special anime movie.

That deserved to be longer and improved with the lore & characters being explained & detailed better.

They should improve this & release a longer director’s cut one day.

Because I think that it would be better received today if it were re-released in an improved & longer form.

The 2004 Japanese animated (anime) psychological thriller TV show Paranoia Agent by the director Satoshi Kon.

Anime Trailer - "Paranoia Agent":

The Terrifying Reality of Paranoia Agent:

My Thoughts

Years ago, my brother GC and I saw a trailer for this animated (anime) television show.

The trailer made it seem like a horror animated television show.

It featured a boy or boy-like entity on rollerblades (roller blades / skates) with a baseball bat committing murders.

We were interested in watching it because horror animes are a bit rare.

The trailer that we saw for this animated television show was misleading. This television show was not like the trailer.

When we watched it on television, it disappointed us because it was not like the trailer at all. It also confused us.

The opening credits for this show is weird and creepy:

Paranoia Agent – Opening Theme – Dream Island Obsessional Park:

I understood this show better when I watched it again on my own years later. I liked it more because I could better relate to it.

My favorite episode is possibly episode 11 (No Entry). I could be wrong, though. It has been years since I saw this show.

This is a show that requires you to pay attention, and it is a very psychological anime.

It is sad that the creator of this animated television show Satoshi Kon died at a young age.

One can only imagine some things that he could have made. His projects are usually creative and have a message hidden in them.

The 2012 drama-thriller movie Cosmopolis.

Cosmopolis Official Trailer (2012) David Cronenberg Robert Pattinson HD:

Film Review: ‘Cosmopolis’:

My Thoughts

Every single video review of this movie that I saw on YouTube so far was negative.

Every reviewer I saw did not like or understand this movie. Most of them felt that it was pretentious and pointless.

They thought it was slow and boring. It did not make sense to them at all.

I seem to be one of the few people who did not hate this movie.

However, I did not like the character Elise Packer (Elise Shifrin) and how that character was acted.

I seem to be one of the few people who could somewhat understand this movie.

I probably somewhat liked this movie. I thought that this movie was different / unique and philosophical. I was able to relate to it.

Furthermore, I understood the movie more than any of the critics I have seen so far.

I watched this movie a few years ago alone at night. I was in a philosophical and thinking mood.

Likewise, I was at a certain point in my life when this movie felt relevant at the time. Maybe that made a difference.

Perhaps this movie is better watched under those conditions.

I was probably able to relate to this movie more because I think a lot.

When I am alone, I sometimes think out-loud, especially at night. This is when I often do my best, deepest, and most philosophical thinking.

The flow and dialogue of this movie is somewhat like that.

This movie and its dialogue between characters are like listening to people thinking out-loud to each other.

They discuss various topics in a deeply philosophical manner. This approach is uncommon in most movies or real life.

Example:

Theory Scene | COSMOPOLIS (2012) Movie CLIP HD:

Cosmopolis – A Protest Against the Future:

This movie will probably be harder to relate to and understand for some people. This is especially true if you do not like philosophy.

It will also be difficult for you if you do not engage in a lot of thinking. This is especially true for deeper thought on various topics.

The dialogue can get confusing, complex, and random at times. It flows like people thinking philosophical thoughts out loud.

Even I could not make much sense of some of it. That is how things are in real life with our thoughts.

Sometimes our thoughts make sense, and sometimes they do not.

They can flow randomly and fast at times, like some of the dialogue in this movie.

The main character Eric Packer (played by Robert Pattinson), who has bodyguards, is basically slowly going through the city.

He has philosophical conversations with various people. He meets them on his way to get a haircut.

Of course, there is more that happens. This will probably bore some people.

If you are in the mood for something like this, you can consider watching this movie at least once.

Here is one of the songs that was featured in this movie:
