It's not the same 38 Special that I grew up with, and Don Barnes is the only remaining/surviving original member but this is a very good song here. Album release date is Sept. 18th.
They've released some great songs. But Second Chance was their only hit here in Australia and none of their albums charted.
I saw 38 Special in concert at the UTC Roundhouse in Chattanooga, Tennessee, it must have been in 1984 or 1985. Huey Lewis and The News was the opening act. I don't go to concerts any more but that was one of the better concerts I have seen. It was very solid rock and roll, we all had a great time that night. 38 Special is a different band since then, and has been for over 30 years. I have not heard anything new from them since the Rock And Roll Strategy album in 1988 but I am hopeful this new record will be a good one.
More details on the band and the new record here:
50 Years of 38 Special
New album “Milestone” available now. The band’s first studio album in more than 20 years, ‘Milestone’ bridges past and present with snarling guitars, anthemic melodies, and fresh, modern production.
