I really can't remember exactly but yes very minimal GUI but very effective for that period

When we bought our first computer in the family back in 2001, there was Norton AV installed on it. After two years, I switched to AVG free. In 2007, I used panda AV for about 5 years, then Avast for some months, Panda again and then Norton 360 till now.
Oh geez... ummmm, I THINK it was AVG, and then AVAST was my second one.
Edit: My AVAST version looked something like this (An MP3 player

I also had it! Forgot to tellBack in 2005 it was golden Nod32 with its glorious interface ahhh, it was a good time back then..

My first antivirus was McAfee. A friend of mine was a IT specialist for the city. He let me use the cities antivirus. It was McAfee Enterprise. I used it for a couple years. It was on Windows XP.

The first one I remember running was Thunderbyte on my fathers PC (it was Intel 80386 based) so it was probably early 1990s.
