Why are so many people having trouble with Chrome?

Chrome and Internet Explorer should be quite secure because of the sandbox technology. I am not sure about Firefox, never heard that they implemented sandbox. I am active Chrome user and no issues here.. before Chrome I used Firefox for one year. Thanks to official work (web development) I must use major browsers like IE, Firefox and Chrome. In my opinion scrolling is better than in Firefox or IE.

Firefox is like a backup browser for me, if Chrome fails then I just try out Firefox.

Internet Explorer is not bad too - sandbox technology + Smart Screen filter. Smart Screen filter blocked good amount of malware in many review videos.

Just my experience. :)

Hi! If you think Chrome is infected, I would uninstall it. If you want to keep using Chrome, you can always reinstall it.
I believe the recommended way is through Ad and Remove found in control panel under Programs and Features. When I tried that on a infected PC,it did not work. I used REVO uninstaller to remove Chrome. Check the Also delete your browsing data box!

It's really hard to tell. When I look in our malware section, it's only Chrome browsers getting infected. I have yet to see any other browser, but that may be because they are all using Chrome. What ever is going on, there seems to be a epidemic at this time, and I'm not seeing anyone getting very excited about this. Why is that?? I stop counting at 12 members this week being infected here on MT. What's going on in the rest of the internet world?? I would guess thousands are experiencing these Chrome issues. I'm not going to be using Chrome even though I'm sure I could recover from what ever was thrown at me.:mad::mad:
Should we blame North Korea:eek:??
These are my thoughts!;)

I would have to agree there looks to be some sort of problem with Chrome i have no idea what it is though. Could it just the number of Chrome users or problem with the code used to make Chrome run?

Firefox is a popular browser, but I don't see if getting infected very often. I could visit the chrome store and see all kinds of extensions that are adware and such. Chrome lets people get infected by allowing extensions that are known to be infected be installed without prompting the user about it.


Let's Blame Everyone. :mad:

I'd started using Pale Moon x64 like @darko999 because Firefox has had it's ups and downs, though overall I've found it to be both slower yet more trustworthy than the speedy Chrome. I'd like to try @frogboy 's SlimJet browser too!:)
I uninstalled our latest stable Chrome portable today. It lasted approx 2 weeks, and is the main reason I ride the browser carousel as much as I do (..which is also how I found Malware Tips:p). This was the 2nd occasion in a two month period I'd lost functionality using Chrome. Most recently, I'd also lost the installed uBlock, LastPass, and ScriptBlock extensions, after using Chrome on a public computer kept in shadow mode. I like Chrome's quickness (when it works) and (more often than not) sandbox it except when performing extension/security updates. I have also stopped installing browser themes on Chrome as I do not trust them to be clean anymore.:oops:
Hitman Pro has found completely hidden files with Chrome in the name, as per @Tani 's observations, which Virus Total deems "..probably safe".:confused: Yes, I agree there is more evidence that Chrome-a-holics shall suffer more mishaps for the same reasons people may drink too much tonight!o_O:rolleyes:

Hi! I don't know this for sure?? It seems our Malware fighters are telling MT members with infected Chrome; to uninstall it.
No mention of reinstalling Chrome again that I have seen?? I tried to warn members about Chrome before this all started popping up in the malware section!:mad::rolleyes:after finding it causing problems here in my retirement village. Oh well I try very hard.;):(

donetao, your warnings and observations are noticed even when it might appear otherwise. In a world where we are all moving simultaneously, it can also be quite easy to overlook the simple fact we are also moving together. This is one of the strengths of Malware Tips. It allows us to stop time, rewind, and move forward wonderfully, kind of like backing up our systems; and that contributes to granting us the shared experiences of tools we use (in life and also these online internet vehicles) we call browsers, to refine their working both more efficiently as well as more safely. We are as the proverbial "Watchers On The Wall"!:)

then their web activity is the problem clicking ads on porn sites redirect you to a infected malware site or dowwnload fake codecs or ilivid virus mostly seniors click on the ads on porn sites (as of my observation) so i think that's the problem not the chrome itself
 
The trend in Malware Tips may not be the same as other security forums.

In my neck of the woods (Bleeping Computer), there isn't much difference =)

My point is, we see more people with issues using Chrome because it's more popular (like there are more malware on Windows because it has more users), not because there is any fault in the app itself.
